Is this something, or nothing?

I just happened to be browsing through the Intamin website, specifically their News section, which shows all the coasters they recently built and are building now... What struck me as possibly suspicious was that not only did it have a section about Xcelerator, and gave information about it's location at Knott's Berry Farm, but beneath it, it had another blurb that just said Rocket Coaster, Xcelerator, USA. It didn't give specifics in the second blurb, like what park it's in, etc, and there are no other coasters mentioned more than once on the page... Check it out for yourself, and tell me if I'm reading too much into this, or maybe it really is a hint.

D/\MN GINA!!!!!!!!

They were actually talking about the Mega Roller Coaster with the 45.5° lift at CB, not the rocket coaster.

The picture on Intamin's website shows the train and it appears to be made to look like a classic muscle car. This goes along with a previous post in another thread that said that the new ride at C.P. will be themed around drag racing.
Nah, those aren't new "muscle car" trains. Those are just the hot rodded '57 Chevy Bel Airs from Xcelerator. As best I can tell, there are no new hints on Intamin's website as to what Cedar Point is building.

No real hints...but it does seem kind of odd to have their Rocket Coaster listed twice.

I stand corrected, I didn't realize that Xcelerator uses similar looking trains as the picture shown on Intamins website.
On that website, it says that the trains would be launched to 100 kilometers per hour. That's only about 62 miles per hour, so if this is mentioning Cedar Point's coaster, it's either not going to be 400 feet high, or there has been a typo.
Or that probably isn't CP's coaster...
Wrong, try again. :-) Good eye, though.

D/\MN GINA!!!!!!!!

It says it accelerates from 0-100km/h in 2 seconds but makes no mention of its maximum speed
Um Joe, when a ride is said to launch from 0-x in y seconds, Your x is always the top speed.
I don't think so. That's how fast the LAUNCH speed is. You have to take into consideration the rest of the track AFTER the tophat. On Xcelerator, the train launches, slows over the top, and picks up speed on the way back down again.
Then again, I'm no engineer.

The only way I see of having a speed higher than your original launch, would be if the launch track is not the lowest part of the ride... For example, if a coaster like Phantoms Revenge/Steel Phantom was built with a launch from 0-70 into a 165 ft tophat (stats are hypothical) and entered the tophat at the same elevation as the launch, but as it came out of the tophat, it pummeled all the way down the ravine another 60 feet, it would be traveling faster than the original lauch speed... But seeing as we're talking about one of the flattest parks in the country, I dont see a situation like this very relevant.

Perhaps at some other Cedar Fair park.

This is probably just a mistake on the Intamin web page. Both items say Xcelerator, which is the Knotts ride. The lower item was probably the original, which they forgot to delete when they put the new item in with updated information.

Florida may have Disneyworld and Key West,
but Ohio has Cedar Point and Put-In-Bay.
It's great to live in Ohio!
