Right, exactly what these 2 above me said. I couldn't care less that he went to another team, hell, I'd probably have supported him wherever he went had he not gone out the way he did.

I don't hate the guy, I just think it was a crappy move.

I agree that he went about it in the wrong way. The ESPN thing was just stupid, allthough it did raise a bunch of money for the boys and girls club.

The news media made people in cleveland out to be idiots. They were only showing video clips of people burning his jersey, and cursing him.

But in order to win a championship, it takes more than one man. From what I have heard, the owner of the cavs, was dragging his feet when it came to getting more talent on the team.

I am thinking that James was waiting on the owner to make some off season moves to get some more talent on the team, and that never happend. That was why he was holding out on making a decision.

Again, this is only a guess, but it makes sense.

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

I'm rooting for Kevin Durant now anyways. He came from Texas. :)

Let's Get Weird.

The media did most of the work allowing things to become what they have. And the league isnt going to stop them from promoting the hatred since it will lead to great ratings for about one quarter in December. Plus there's no such thing as bad advertising in the NBA. problems equal ratings!

As far as cleveland making James and him being the hometown kid, it would have happened in ANY city he went to. He was drafted via luck of the draw. Its not like he chose cleveland to play, he had no choice in the matter. It was there, or no where in the US.

The TV show was a joke, but so is the media coverage on many things is now. Time to get some rest before ESPN starts covering TO saying something in a loud matter to carson palmer. Because you know that every camera is waiting to find one second of pictures they can turn into a controversy

IMO.....we put the wrong people on pedestals in this country. We place a bunch of overpaid, whining, athletes up as "heroes". We should be reserving that title for our veterans, who put their life on the line for freedom around the world. For our firefighters, emt's, and police officers who run in to trouble when everyone else is running away. For our teachers, who are trying to educate our future while being underpaid, underfunded, and worrying if they will even have a job next school year.

Okay, I'm done, I'll put my soap box away now.

Why? Keep that soapbox out my man. Awesome rant. 100% agree.

As an out of work certified teacher, who happens to be employed as a Ride Op at Michigan's Adventure, I wholeheartedly agree with this statement.

Michigan's Adventure
07- Zach Zoomer
08 - Maintenance/Tilt a Whirl
09 - Go Karts
10 - Grand Rapids (ATL-Fridays)

Yeah I agree strongly about what you said Chase Gilbert. It's unfair that are local hero's aren't paid the amount they deserve. And for some reason like you said Teachers have to worry if they'll have a job because the school board keeps making cuts which is dumb.

As far as Lebron James coming to Cedar Point. He has the right to come to Cedar Point, but with him being from Ohio, I doubt he's going to get much attention now for the bone headed move he did on National TV. I wish he would have let ownership know ahead of time of his decision that way Cleveland could have picked up a good free agent in the off season. I wish him the best of luck in Miami, but he's going to regret what he did one day.

Id like to give my two cents for this topic. I personally believe LeBron lost a lot of respect for the way he announced his decision. He could've done the classy thing like some other big name free agents did such as Carlos Boozer and not be a huge drama king about the thing, but no, he had to do things the LeBron James way, making a big scene of it. I will laugh once Wade, Bosh, and LeBron realize they all can't be the superstar or showstopper.

On a CP related note, I heard LeBron was kicked out of CP before for line jumping, true or false?

I may have been the only one in Cleveland who wanted him to leave. :) I wrote this blog post before his infomercial announcement.

Which still doesn't cover spitting in the face of the Cleveland fans. With the amount he makes from endorsements alone, he could have donated more than that without even denting his bank account.

The only thing missing from that video is someone shouting "Where's your daddy? Where's DeLonte?"

I suspect that ESPN special earned Lebron more money for his own bank account than it did for any charity group.

Brandon

I was there on Monday. We were joking that we were going to say "HEY LOOK, THERE'S LBERON!" so that everyone would get out of line at Maverick and we could just walk on. =P

Although, one kid we know asked LeBron if he could shake his hand [he was wearing a LeBron shirt, too. XDD] and LeBron said something like "Sure." but the security around him kept the handshake from happening. XD

Although a sweeper told us that he had been in Chik-fil-A, and we had just been eating there, and we were like "Are we stupid or what?" but then she told us it had been a couple of hours ago, and we were like "Oh, that's a little disappointing, but at least we're not stupid." Hahahahahaha.

It was certainly an interesting day.

Btw, surely I'm not the only one who has the on-ride pic of LeBron on TTD as I think I got it off this board?!

He is too tall to ride TTD.

The good thing that came out of this was CP was mentioned and talked about on all ESPN Radio shows yesterday and was even on sportscenter. My two favorite things on one channel. :)

Anyone see this video of him losing the 3-Point Shootout game?
The end is awesome but my favorite is when someone yelled, "Just like the playoffs!"
