Let me guess...you have to pay for CP beach lounge chairs

I think it is a great beach and someone must be pretty jaded to think otherwise. It's at least as nice as most east coast beaches I've been to, like Ocean City or Wildwood. No, it's not the Caribbean with palm trees and sky blue crystal clear water. But, I've been to a beach in Barbados which was by the main harbor and had a view of a refinery with a faint chemical smell. CP beach beats that by a mile. I'm happy to relax on the beach, order a drink from the server and jump in the water.

Lake Erie - Unsalted and Shark Free.

Not Jaded, I guess I am just fortunate to spend much of my summer on the eastern shore of Lake Michigan, particularly in the dunes areas. Gorgeous water, clean sand, beautiful sunsets. CP Beach is a far cry from that.

Agree on east coast atlantic beaches, though.

There are no lake sunsets on the western shore of Lake Michigan. :-)

Thats one of my favorite things about staying at Breakers is the beach. I love laying in the sun listening to the water and the ambient sounds of the park. I always close my eyes and listen for the "vrooom" sound of dragster being launched, and the woosh of Power Tower. I also like the clankety clank of Magnum going up the hill. I actually recorded this ambiance on my phone so that I can listen to it at home when Im stressed, LOL!

Nah, that one is smaller. :)

THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID!

I meant east shore. It's western Michigan. My mistake, and I corrected it!

This year we have a 3 night stay planned for Hotel Breakers in early August. We fell in love(all over again) with the hotel, boardwalk, beach(and lounging equipment) etc. Last season, we spent almost 3 hours(day 1 of 2 day visit) relaxing on beach, under an umbrella in a nice comfy chair, mid afternoon-it was awesome! We only left because we felt guilty for hogging the seats so long. If you have a one day trip, at least take a stroll on boardwalk and take a look and break away from the other crazy 80% inside park. Nobody if being forced into the water. And if you don't like the beach view, turn around and look at the park!

Keep passing the fun along!

that's good, you don't have to pay :) I mean the beach is nice, it's very large, offers great views of the park, the hotel renovations are amazing, and I love how they clean it normally. It's actually cleaner than most northern ohio beaches. mentor headlands is an exception, I love that one plus it's clean. But...for Cedar point, notice I didn't list swimming as great. for an adult, there is lack of. My friends and I have found satisfaction in WADING over by windseeker, and so far no lifeguards chased us out of the water blowing whistles and flapping their orange lifesaver thingys yet :) as for volleyball, we just bring our own ball.

You don't have to be afraid/upset the employee working the beach shack will charge you for using a volleyball, those are also available for free to use for your enjoyment.
AND, you won't have to pay $2 to rent a locker to store your own volleyball.

Also FREE on the beach-

It is nice to know the Mayflies are free.

Mayfly Stew:

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

with the amount of mayflies there, I bet you can make a soup substantial enough to serve the whole park :)

as for beach activities, xs nightclub, I see how you didn't list swimming.

Great song! Is a CD available anywhere?
