Don't be scared of Maggie, there are more frightning rides in the park...

The lap bars on Magnum are just like the ones on Gemini, only with more "padding". You get one all to yourself. You also get your very own seat belt, which may or may not be orange (I think some of them are still black).

I had my first ever rough ride on it yesterday. My head snapped on the drop and the bunny hills were so rough. I was glad when it was over. Sorry Magnum, I still luv you!

i thought you could only do that on heavy turns and inversions...there are no heavy turns on the magnum really...i dont see how that could happen

I think one train gives a rough ride. I've been to CP 3 times this year and only had one rough ride, but it was rough enough my son commented about the square wheels.

I think everyone should chrill out about magnum being so rough it's a rollercoaster it shouldn't be a limo ride. I agree at times it is rough, but it's still the best thing out there.
but is it like break your back rough...or just a little rough

Its not break your back rough, its a good ride, and should should ride it the next time you go to Cedar Point.
If you're worried about roughness, don't sit in the third row of any car (except the first car;)).

I found them seats to give the rougher rides, and the first and middle rows to give smoother rides.

Rough? Ha, my car has given rougher rides on the way to C.P. on Route 2!

Good point Fordman!
I just thought I should mention this since this topic seems to be turning into many Mean Streak ones I have read in the past...

People complain way too much about certain roller coasters being rough. People freak out... "OH MY GOSH IT IS SOO ROUGH!" Yeah, Mean Streak is rough... obviously. Other coasters are rough too. Roller coasters can have "bad days" too just like us. So maybe sometimes Magnum gives a rough ride. It's getting old... 13 years I believe. Any coaster will get rough eventually (well, most). Plus many coasters from the 80's and before didn't have a whole lot of technology we have today to make them smooth. Or maybe they did, but I am just saying that roller coasters have definately been designed differently. Look at MF, it is very smooth along with Raptor and Mantis. What I am saying is a lot of people complain too much about roughness and if a coaster isn't pleasing you, go complain to some "important people" at Cedar Point. It gets rather annoying. Like jwhoogs said... it's a roller coaster, it shouldn't be a limo ride.

Now back to the Magnum thing. I have noticed that Magnum gave me a VERY rough ride a few weeks ago and I sat in 1-3 (my first time in that seat). The next 2 times were 1-1 and 1-2 and I found those to be much smoother. So if you are worried about roughness just don't sit in the 3rd row of any car.

My Maggie is not rough :(

Forceful crazy unreal throwing airtime. But not Maggie is just as smooth as Gemini but has more air then anyone is used too. Hence everyone thinks it's rough.

Welcome back Magnum riders how was your ride?

The only reason magnum is rough is b/c it needs new trains and lapbars becase they are too heavy and the airtime turns into pain

What? How do you expect a lighter train would make it around the course?

In my opinion...Arrow's coasters, along with Vekoma's, are rougher than those of Intamin or B&M because of the 3-wheel system. On an Arrow coaster, you can clearly see the wheels under the tubular track are not touching, and on Gemini, there aren't even wheels underneath, they are more like guide-pallets. Now on a B&M or an Intamin, the wheels underneath, the side wheels, and the road wheels are all tightly on, and that's why they tend to make a "roar" also. The best example I can think of to see Arrow's setup is Iron Dragon (or any Arrow suspended), on that not only can you see the bottom wheels not touching, but the side wheels are spinning freely at times.
