Maverick

Being relatively new here, I was wondering what (if any) the history of name patents is, with regard to CF? For instance, is it possible/likely that Maverick would be used in '07, or possibly later? Could there have been (or was there, if anyone knows) another name patent years ago that could be used for the '07 attraction?

So, if there's anyone that has a good knowledge of past CF/CP patent habits, please share.

^Not to my knowledge. But finding trademarked names on the internet is relitivly new, espcially on here.

The past two years CF filed for a trademark on Silver Bullet and Patroit and those were annouced sometime within a year of the find at KBF and WoF.

Ok, I have to get this lie off my chest.

Then I asked how would you know. He said that his "friend" has a photo on his cell phone. I honestly think he is full of sh*t. I just want to know if anyone knows this guy and what you think about his knowning about this coaster.

Yeah this guy is Full of Crap. How long did he work at Cedar Point? Like 2 months? First of all, Fliers haven't even made it to 200 ft high yet. And second of all, for all we know it could be a B&M coaster model, or another record height breaker. So I don't think he was totally full of it, but just full of it as in he doesn't know like everyone else knows. By the way when someone reads this post, don't think I'm yelling, I'm just explaining :)

Don't you think that a B&M floorless is the best bet for this addition? They can be somewhat compact. They don't need to have a large footprint. But i can see taking a Floorless coaster and tweking it to come up with something one of a kind.

What you think?

Im hoping for a B & M vertical coaster.

The "footprint" is rather irrelevant, as the area available is huge. There's nothing they couldnt fit in there is they wanted to bad enough.

I remember a few yrs back a topic about CP running out of space to put a coaster. But anyways someone said on the topic that they could also run the coaster behind MS and head it back towards MF. This was before WWL was on the chopping block. Do you see that happening with Maverick or no? I honestly see but ALOT more work head with the road and what not.

First off you are assuming that the new project it Mavrick. Second of all, that would result in alot of tree removal, which would kill the look of fronteer town. I think we can safely assume that the new project is going to be somewhat compact.

Well with footers showing up near Thunder Canyon, we mustn’t start assuming it will be compact. Once we can get a visual of the site on opening day, then we can make more accurate guesses.

Hello all, I have been a long time reader, but first time poster. I think all the discussion on "Maverick" is really interesting and I have a little thought on it. I believe that something big is coming to Cedar Point for a couple reasons. One because it is Kinzel's last year, so I agree with many that he wants to go out with a bang. I also heard that Cedar Point and B and M are not on good terms since the whole Raptor clone thing so I believe B and M is out. However when I think of Maverick I think of something out of control, and what type of coaster is out of control?, well more than others, a 4-D. I also think that the height and all that records may be put on hold for a little so instead of going up, I believe Cedar Point will try to go for a thrill insted. A new 4-D is being built in Japan and here is a link http://www.rcdb.com/id3254.htm, and I also looked at this photo and noticed that the footers look similar here is the photo i was looking at http://www.rcdb.com/ig3254.htm?picture=12, look at the footer to the left of the vehicle in the middle, i think size and all that they look the same. Just my opinion, speculation is fun.

Can anybody prove this? This has been said since he announced his retirement, but no one has been able to link the article.

Welcome to Pointbuzz! :)

good job Gomez!

somebody else is bound to loose control!

JToff,

CF and B&M ARE CURRENTLY ERRECTING A COASTER ...T O G E T H E R!

Are you serious about B&M and Cedar Point not liking eachother because of a cloned coaster?

I hope not! I'd rather see CP get a Floorless then a 4-D... I can tell you why if your interested...

Hmmmmm.....train tracks move to the road, has to remove trees to stage footers and what not. So that pretty much removes most of the trees. So prove to me and or others where are the trees that has to be remove for the track to run behind MS?? http://local.live.com/default.aspx?v=2&cp=41.482716~-82.683726&style=o&lvl=1&scene=2365171
