Mean Streak

Do you think CP will do anything for Mean Streaks 10 year aniversery next year like they did for Magnum.
No. This year DT is 10 and Cedar Point didn't even say one thing about it!
My guess is YES. DT didn't have a celebration because MF is so hyped and new that nobody would probably care. Mean Streak probably will because it is on as off year (no new coasters). And it's one of the bigger ones unlike DT.
Celebrate DT??????? Let's not get crazy. Only classics should be celebrated.
"Technically" this is the 10th "operating" season for MS. It would DT's 11th
Disaster Transport is 15. It was built as Avalanche Run in 1985 and later renovated and covered to make Disaster Transport

Dispatch Master, This is Transport one! I'm losing control, I'm losing control!
I hope they do something for MS like they dad for our beloved Magnum last year. Also I hope they finish re-tracking it and maybe find a way to use less brakes. I just hope they celebrate it and rejoyce it beeing there, remember, when it opened it was "the magnum of woodies". Tallest, fastest, and all that good stuff. It is still a great ride, I love it. CP since you are listing, MEAN STREAK RULES!

Maybe for it's B-day they could advertise a new and improved mean streak. Of course to do that, they would actualy have to fix it and take the breaks off! But if they did, i think it would pull a small crowd in!
If they fixed it up and made it like a CCI woodie (preferably Villain) You would see me in that line alot more.

This past weekend I rode Mean Streak and had the best rides on it ever, they only used a little trim on the first hill, and that was it, you could barely even tell.

-------------
Whats life if you never get to the point?
During my two day trip on the 13th and 14th the trims on the top of the hill were the hardest I have ever felt. As for the tenth b-day of Mean Streak I would say it could very well happen.

Remember, line jumping is NOT a sporting event!
I hope CP celebrates Mean Streak's 10th birthday. However, let's call CCI and have them install a real track and brand new cars. Mean Streak is one of the most beautiful rides I have ever seen and at one point it was one of my favorite rides. CP just needs to give it a tune-up for it's b-day.
Yesterday I rode in the front of the green train and it was smoother than Magnum! I even got some airtime.
Does CCI manufacture its own cars? I thought they used a subcontractor.
CCI uses either PTC or Gerstlauer for their trains. GCI makes their own. Coasterworks subcontracts as well, I believe. RCCA made their own for SoB.
No. GCI (Great Coasters Int'l, Mike Boodley's company) builds (or has built to their specs) trains. GCI's train is a trailered Prior & Church style train, and I'm looking forward to riding one on Lightning Racer.

CCI (Custom Coasters Int'l) specifies either Philadelphia Toboggan or Gerstlauer trains. The PTC trains that CCI uses are mechanically identical to the Mean Streak train, except that new PTC cars have upholstered seats instead of that concrete-like substance that Mean Streak and Blue Streak have. The Gerstlauer cars are mechanically similar to the PTC trains, but use materials and hardware which are lower maintenance. Unfortunately the seats have high density foam "padding" and the lap bars...similar to the ones on Gemini and Magnum...are a little bit on the narrow side.

My understanding is that CCI are now recommending Gerstlauer trains on their new rides.

Which is a shame, from a lack of pain department, according to *a lot* of riders.
After riding the Beast 7 times in 1 hour during ERT at PKI on June 3rd, I don't know if I will ever get on the "icky" old MS again. Some coasters like the Beast are "rough and wild" while some like MS are "rough, slow, nasty and icky". CP please tear that aweful coaster down and put something in that will add to your reputation instead of taking away from it.

MF and that's my Final Answer ;)
MF count:15
I totally disagree with you Gooober to tear down the Mean Streak would just be plain stupid. It is has the most amazing look a coaster can have an even though it could be a little rough it is definatly not aweful. All it needs is some track and it will be great.
I think the Mean Streak is fun and should not be taken down. I think it's one of the most beautiful coasters around. I had a ride on it last week and it wasnt very rough.
