New Animated CP.com Banner

Its a lot faster if you view it alone: http://www.cedarpoint.com/_includes/flash/cp_banner/cp_banner.swf

Also, you can right click and save that link directly to your computer.

The only problem is it only shows the day one because to show night it passes a variable to the movie depending on the time of day. I dont know if you can pass it to the movie without putting on your own page and adding the code.

How Long Do You Think It Took CP To Make The Web Site Banner?

Longer than you can imagine. A hell of a lot of work went into it... and a hell of a lot of accuracy.

It's really accurate, if you watch it for a while they have the famous green train on MF.

That's really funny. I noticed it after you pointed it out, but I didn't even have to wait a while, the green train was the first one up when the page loaded.

What green train...... just kidding. :)

Joe... seriously. You need to find something else to do.

What did I do now?

Top Thrill Dragster....Always number one

Well the new banner is just not as amazing as some of you make it seem.

The banner is definately better then the older banner, it just didn't look right. I know the old banner was the view from like across the causway to the city of Sandusky. I guess this new banner is the view from around East Bayshore Rd by Marblehead. Wonder if computer people sat over there to make it? I was there 2 years ago and the banner reminds me very much of what it looked like from that direction with some changes of course. The reason I ask if someone sat there and made and accurate scale is that the space spiral is right behind the TTD. If they didn't want it to be completely accurate, couldn't they have just moved it to the right or to the left just alittle to make it completely visable? But yet it is right behind the TTD which makes me believe that is the view from there. *** Edited 3/10/2005 4:50:35 AM UTC by ejh1701***

If I remember right, the banner right before this was an inanimate picture of the same view. I would guess the animator(s) just worked off that and basically traced over it for ride structures and then added the working cars to each of the rides.

I don't think its the new animated banner is the same as the old one. As I recall, in the old one Mean Streak was not nearly as visible as it is now, and RipCord was not in it either.

We'll miss you MrScott and Pete

The new banner is very cool. I'm running both Firefox and IE, and the banner runs fine with either browser. Not sure why some of you have trouble with slow performance under Firefox, I don't see that on my system.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

Its not the same as the old animated banner, but the banner right before this one (which was static) was the same angle view of the park.

Pete: He revised it, making one major change in particular that cut system demands in half.

IT guy? IT guys figure out why you can't print. An actual development shop with programmers and artists run the site.

I thought the banner could be described as cute when I saw it in the day, but I just saw it for the first time at night tonight, and it looks freaking awesome! Seriously, someone deserves mad props.
