New construction markings.

& In some ways, I would have to disagree regarding Ocean Motion. It would look very weird to have a water themed ride not by anything like a beach. On the other hand, having Hurricane Hannah's across from it might not be a bad idea.

Ocean motion would also fit in well over by blue streak. There is a lot of room for a flat ride over there.

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

The BS area doesn't have much. They have Game Day Grille, Blue Streak, the Turnpike Cars, and Calypso.

I still think the ball fountain would have looked great over there.

There will be an announcement in mid-August apparently...

I am officially ruling out a thrill ride or flat ride. Why would they announce in in augest if that was the case.

The second part of that article is what cought my eye. Sounds like a wooden coaster along the beach like the old cyclone coaster.

If it's announced in mid August I am assuming it will be a coaster.

Why announce a thrill ride so early?

"Cedar Fair's chairman and CEO, Dick Kinzel, dropped a hint about what's coming. "It's going to bring back a lot of memories for people that follow Cedar Point," he said."

That just screams wooden cyclone coaster to me. With the markings that are there now, and this...

I'm still curious to find out how the ride will be laid out in the location we are assuming.

I agree with crazy horse. A nice new boardwalk themed gci, would be cool.

Or maybe Dipper is coming to CP?;)

I see this thread being the new "Mystery Construction" thread that we had going last year.

CPboy that would be cool, but I don't think Dipper operating anywhere else then in Aurora. And Dipper really doesn't have anything to do with CP history anyways.

GCI twister on the beach. Anyone got any good names?

What does Dipper have to do with people having memories of CP? No, I think Kinzel's remark (if it's accurate) emphatically rules out BD coming to the Point next year -- not that there was any chance anyway.

Edit: Pointperson beat me to it.

If this means the end of DT, then there should be a contest for a lucky guest to be the one to push the button and implode the building! :)

I was just kidding around. I know it won't be coming to CP. For a split second though when I did see memories in Kinzel's quote I did think of Dipper coming to CP... then I noticed CP memories.

I'd imagine Cyclone would be a leading candidate for a historically inspired wooden coaster name.

Yeah I really like Cedar Point Cyclone.

But hey there's always a chance of WoodHawk ;)

Just remember that Shoot the Rapids was supposed to be evocative of the park's history as well.

The path you tread is narrow, and the drop is sheer and very high.

I vote for Gravity group or an Intamin woody
