New members..

Has anyone noticed there have been a lot of new members lately? It seems like when I look at the join date its always says 2006....... I'm not saying it's bad or anything... just noticed it.

Yeah, true. And if everyone new would read the rules of posting it would be great ;)

I've been here for over six years and not noticed it. But that is not to say it isn't there...

These boards seem to attract a lot of people. Lots of people out there with a love for Cedar Point, or at least an interest. :)

There has been a huge influx of new members. Over the last year (April 2005 through mid-April 2006), we "only" averaged around 20-25 new members a week. Over the last five weeks or so, we've averaged almost 90 new members a week. Traffic is up too and we have Project 2007 to thank. I think Cedar Point should do season long construction every year. :)

I don't even know what my current reg date is. All I know is that I was around GTTP for a long while, but I forgot my old username nd password, and I thought this one was better any way.

I'm one of those new people you're talking about. I just recently discovered PointBuzz and decided I'd better register since I work at PKI.

I must say, in all honesty, your web site is nicer and much more active than ours is. I like it!

exitenglish, I was a GTTPer also, had the same problem you did. I think I joined over there about the same time they built MF, I was looking for info on the first Giga coaster. :}

New Member: Yes. Long time Cedar Point fan: Yes. Chalk this new member up to Project 2007.

Beware the Kraken

Ive been going to cp since 1995 and i have been checking this board out since 2003 when the site was called guide to the point. I finally decided to register.

I joined in 2002 and made a few posts here and there. I hated how much negativity came from this site and to me I felt like that ruined the enjoyment in it. So i would just read all the posts and not comment. Now I figured I might as well get back into it and jump on the band wagon.

"Milk was a bad choice..."

I think we've also gotten a lot of traffic from when news stories mention the site (again, related to P2007).

Seems weird that I've only been here a year, feels like a lot longer (I used this site for the Pictures/Features etc long before I even noticed the forums, let alone joined them). *** Edited 6/2/2006 3:56:10 AM UTC by GeeForce***

You just need to know who to take seriously, and who to ignore.

(HINT: Ignore me.)

I'm one of the new members. I had heard of Cedar Point from a lady who works with my wife in the hospital lab. She was from Canada and within eyesight of Cedar apparently. Sooooo..being a coaster nut,I had to check out the site and see what to expect if I used this vacation to go up there. I also had a few questions not answered in the park site. Has been fun learning more about coasters(design, flaws, etc) from people who have worked on them or grown up riding the coasters at Cedar Point. It's better than just hitting a park cold and with just two days can make better use of time. Also, MOST on these pages seem pretty friendly to this point and hope to meet a few maybe when I travel up in July. Thanks for letting me be a part of your "world" . Hope I haven't broken too many posting rules...yet. If anyone wants to you can call me Ken instead of Fastfish. it's a name I use in other sites and referred to a 65 Barracuda I once owned and drove. Yeah..old car nut too!

I don't think people here are unfriendly, either. Well, maybe some are, but most are not. A lot of the long timers have a "short fuse" when responding to new folks. That is to be expected, this site (and some of it's members) have been around since 1963. ;)

I'm one of the new guys. My first time at Cedar Point was last season. I loved it from the moment I walked in. I forget how I ran across this site, but I love it. I don't comment much but I read a lot of the threads. I have also read the rules, this is the first forum that I joined. My home park is Kings Island so i'm really excited about the recent purchase. This site is a really good place to find information and to talk about CP, I visit PointBuzz several times each day.

I have been a member for about 2 years now, and I have just recently started posting bulletins on here. I have one of those jobs that allows me to do so.
