Looking at the photo of the Trail and island, it's hard to see how much clearance there is between the track and the trail. Or is that a walk-through tunnel I see?

Yeah, it looks like MF goes over a bridge and the trail just goes under it.

Yeah, it's a wooden pedestrian tunnel.

Pretty weird that they put those pics up (which are very similar to the ones causing a minor stir at http://members.tripod.com/jvsaints50/mf3.html)

Maybe it's not weird, but if you check that thread here on this message board, Jeff seems to think CP was (or wouldn't be) too pleased that someone posted those photos. Then a couple days later they post very similar shots. Makes me wonder...if I think about this stuff too much.

In another thread, there was a post about there being a small car that goes up the side of the hill for track checks and so forth. But in the pictures it looks like it just a set of stairs that goes up the hill. Are the stairs just at the top of the hill and the car along the rest, or is it just stairs all the way?

Those tripod pictures could also have come from an enterprising photo developing technician, not necessarily from the steel worker himself. I don't think a worker would jeopardize his job by being dumb enough to post his picture up there. There had to be something more to it, they were obviously old since there was some track missing and the lake was frozen.
lordgonchar.. that exact same though passed through my mind when I saw those new official site photo's.
