no earings?

What exactly is the rule on the earings and what does the sign say? Maverick can't be any worse than riding on Mantis and Corkscrew while wearing 10 million earings.

I don't like it I don't I don't I don't! not everyone has earings that are easy to come out. I'm glad that i dont have as many as I did 2004 memorial weekend. My ears were covered with all sorts of cartilage piercings.

They are just probably saving their butts from the suing someone who would hit their earring on the over the shoulder restraint just right and make a lot of blood... It does seem like a sucky rule for the pierced up guests. But rules are rules.

It's just a safty issue. They have that rule on other rides, such as Raptor and Dominator at GL, but they don't enforce it all that much.

Basically, they are saving their butts... If you were to get injured because of your earing doing some sort of damage, they are not liable. You can probably still wear them, but at your own risk. Much like the Arms Down rule on TTD. Yes ,you must have your arms down at launch, but if you get injured because you put them up after the launch is activated its your fault.

Oh its clear its liability that is for sure; but some people try and sue (sp?) anyway. At a rollerskating rink you can put up a sign that says skate at your own risk but people still try and find a way to get behind the rules. Am I contradicting myself again? My brain is so split in two about everything!

That would explain your tendency to double post.

Bwuhahaahahaa!

It's only this funny because I thought the same thing!

I have to agree..It does get annoying, but the comment was pretty funny. I'm guilty of double-posting every once in a while myself.

I'm too sexy for my harness!

Like This.

I'm too sexy for my harness!

This is ridiculous, I have ten earrings in each ear. And I never go without my earrings. When I change them I immediately put other ones in.

After riding Maverick today with my girlfriend Jamie, I can vouch that it's good that earrings come out, especially if you are short and your ears are lower on the shoulder harness. There are a couple spots where it could really bang your head pretty good.

I guess you'll have to either go without them for the duration of the ride or not ride at all.

They give you PLENTY of notice since the sign is in the first section of the queue.

I think that's an over-reaction. The first two direction changes are admittedly a little on the quick side, but I wouldn't call it serious enough to cause earring issues. (I also admit that I would've been concerned if I still had the industrial.)

This ride is like any other inverting ride: Push your head back and you'll be fine.

^^The ride-op at the entrance also told someone in our party that they should remove their earings before getting in the queue. She then told us a story about a woman from the day before with blood dripping down her ears because she didn't remove them. Don't know how much truth their is to that though.

Are the ride ops asking people to remove their earrings as they board trains? I don't think I've seen this, and I heard some people today in the queue who were pretty defiant about not removing earrings if asked to do so.

..Al

Someone wrote in a TR or post of their experience that someone was forced to remove their ear rings while seated in the train before it would depart.

Well at least they're enforcing something since it seems like people just smoke where ever still. Or has this improved since opening weekend?

Nope, hasn't improved as I saw people smoking all over the park today.
