Number of riders in load station

From the webcam it appears there is only enough riders in the station to fill the next train, similar to how MF runs the station. Has this been going on recently, if so, good job CP on cutting down the number of people in the station. On opening day, the station was like the magnum one. If it hasn't been fixed, I'd like to see CP cut down the number of people in the station so the station is like it was last year.

Last TTD train of the night (6-23/24).

It looks like the ride is broken again, or something, notice that there is no one standing on the ramp outside the station or anything, just a few people waiting around in the station to see it if opens back up.

I havent gone yet this year but i check the webcam now and then and whenever i check it the station is usually like magnums or theres no one in it because its broken down.

Does CP still pack TTD's station again this season? Or did they go back to the way they used to do it?

Last TTD train of the night (6-23/24).

It was packed tight on Sunday. I watched some jackoff unscrew the cables that make up the guard rail to the left of the station entrance.

This little kid who was barely tall enough to ride, narc'd him out to the station entrance op.

i was all excited that there was a webcam on TTD again when i saw this thread. then i realized it was a thread from almost a year ago today. :)

i wish they wouldn't pack the station like that. i actually liked when they used to assign rows on MF. not sure that they ever did that on TTD. but, disney does that and it makes the loading process SO much faster because you don't have people wandering around dilly dallying about what row they want. let people wait for the first and last row, but assign the others.

how about the station for magnum? is that still crazy?

The past 3 years I've been there, TTD has never assigned the rows, just let everyone pack the station completely full where you can't even walk by. That's horrible. Most of the time you can't even tell who's in what line.

Magnum has done it on occasion but they usually let the station pack. Assigning rows in the station was a quality I really respected from MF and WT. When you get up to the station, it gives you confidence in the ride ops because its so organized. This was about the only downfall I saw in TTD (of course besides it breaking down often)

Unless they don't have the staff to cover it, I don't see why they shouldn't assign the rows on at least Maggie, MF, WT, & TTD and if it gets busy enough, even on Gemini because that station can get full real quick.

In May 2003 the ride ops assigned rows. During the summer I've seen ride ops only allow enough people in to fill three trains. After the trains were cleared from the load each time, about 18 people were let in on each side. That system worked just fine. I hate the packing of the station. You think that when you get in the station that you're going to ride, but it takes another 15 minutes just to figure out what row you're waiting for. Magnum does this the worst.

I remember opening day 2003 they weren't flooding the station, just letting enough in to fill the train.

I think it should stay that way. I asked a ride op about it, I believe it was last year and they said it's really up to whoever's working crowd. I know Millennium Force and Wicked Twister are the only ones that NEED to block off the entrance to the station, but I think they should do it at Dragster too.

From what I hear they're packing the WT station now too.... I hate it when they do that!

Does anyone know if they're still packing the stations on any of the rides this week?

I don't think they get enough people in the park right now to fill more than one station, and that's if everyone went to that ride at once.

Last weekend:
Magnum was wide open but hardly packed.
MF was being regulated.
TTD was only open briefly, didn't see what was being done.
WT was being regulated.

Nothing else ever had a long enough line for it to really matter.

I agree that there need to be a ride op monitoring the entrance at all times and limit the amount of people that are actually in the station.. Went yesterday and TTD station was jam crammed full of people waiting.. The station is so tiny too.. There is no cohesive pattern for waiting for a seat either you just joined the huddled masses and hoped for a ride which never happend.. LOL :)

They probably can't afford to have the extra staffing this time of year.

Sometimes I don't like the regulating on WT, because on that coaster I think ride quality is dramatically affected by where you sit. Sitting in the back makes all of the differance for me. However, Magnum really needs something done with theirs. Dragster's can get crazy too. Staffing probably is an issue, so it will be interesting to see what they do when summer comes.

Thrills Around the Corner!

Honestly, unless you care about how close you are to a large group of people, it shouldn't matter. Either way, your wait length will never change.

The staffing is there, but they don't seem to be in the break rotation. Thus, when they go on break, there isn't anyone there.

Cedarpointdude, that isn't the point. When the station is packed sometimes you can't even tell which seat you are in line for. Plus, if you are in a group of 3 or more, it is near impossible to co-ordinate riding in the same train.

We'll miss you MrScott and Pete

OHH, I totally agree!!!

But I've managed quite well picking what line for the 3rd and 4th friends to go in so that we end up on the same train. All I do is count pairs of people and find a line that matches. Sometimes it's a couple of rows aprart and sometimes it's not..... and if I get something wrong, we just ask if anyone wants to get in front of us.
