Walt, nice job today! Great coverage of opening day for those of us not present. The control booth for Luminosity would've looked great with a concession/souvenir stand occupying the bottom. Maybe in a few years as improvements to Celebration Plaza are added the control booth will get a cosmetic disguise for daylight.

I will say that the whole area for Dinosaurs Alive! looks great and seems to have a really good fit with that are for the colors they chose for the building. Very impressed.

Thanks for all the hard work with the opening day updates! I kept checking in throughout the day.

It makes me wish I could've driven up from Nashville this weekend for all the festivities! :-)

Great updates! I believe Gemini did have new trains though. Or atleast freshly painted/overhauled old ones. Gemini looked good and was super smooth!

Yeah Gemini trains were either new or something. They didn't have any of the side stickers or Anything

Does anybody have pictures from opening day? Not just of Celebration Plaza?

Enjoy the rest of your day at America's Rockin' Roller Coast! Ride On!

Power Tower looks GREAT! I was most excited about it, since I didn't see a picture or video of the lights during the off season. Also, it's been long overdue. They did an amazing job with it!

Millennium looks good too! It's like a brand new ride all over again

Giant Wheel of course is 100 times better than it was before. So exciting and beautiful! I have pictures on my phone. I'll try to post them later

Also, Iron Dragon finally has 3 train operation which was working really good yesterday. They did have to send some empty trains ocassionally, depending on how long guests would take getting in the train.

Well I'm an idiot and forgot I took all of the good pictures on my girlfriends phone. I'll try to post them ASAP

From the pictures I've seen so far on FB and those celebration plaza pictures, that whole area looks so much better without that big ugly white screen. Can't wait to see it all in person later this summer.

Nice. Thank you Walt. Nice to see they finally fixed the dumb entrance to Power Tower.

I was dissapointed with how Millennium Force kept having hic-cups as I like to call them of down time this weekend. The third train of the season that I was on(red) was stuck on the hill for 20 minutes because another train didn't clear the brake run. The second time around that I waited, it broke down 4 times which turned my wait time from twenty minutes to an hour and a half. I love Millennium Force, but I hope they get the bugs worked out before the season gets busy for the summer.

There aren't enough superlatives to convey my appreciation for the coverage. It was fantastic, even on mobile.

Wonderful job, Walt!

Thanks. The live coverage was an experiment, but I think it worked out well.

We have more updates on the way. Jeff has video that he will be posting.

Great job Walt! The fries looked good!

Someone reported that ID had 3 train operation again this year, that's great to hear!

When you visit CP, visit my Mill, est. 1835

We were loaded in the Blue train, when it was announced MF was down. We sat for a while in the train. After some time, we saw the red train come through...everyone was like 'where the hell was it?' We had to get back in the queue, and they took the blue train off, not sure why. After almost an hour, we boarded the yellow, and finally started the day.

We got in line for TTD at night near closing, then it went down, and were allowed to choose from either MF or maverick. We went to maverick, when it went down as well : ) Then we were taken to MF, and got the last train of the day :) Funny to circle around the park while making stops at all the top coasters, lol

Walt, thank you so much for your coverage! I think you answered many off-season questions. I especially loved your pictures of DA with MF. Thanks again for getting me excited for the new season!
