I believe that film was shot in Montreal, so the park most likely was La Ronde (situated on an island in the St. Lawrence River).

Tommy Boy wasn't filmed in Sandusky, it was filmed somewhere in Canada. The story was set in Sandusky, but only the name was accurate. Sandusky International Airport? Flying to Medina?

Isn't Griffing an international airport? It would be faster than the ferry for, say, a trip to Leamington.......

Yeah, Medina has like 14 people. Now, flying into Cleveland and driving to Medina would make sense, but not flying, unless you land on some corn.:)

Thank you for riding Raptor and enjoy your day here at Cedar Point, America's RollerCoast!
Also.. the validity of this is still up in the air, because I haven't really had the desire to research it.... Tommy Boy was a Paramount production.... owning Paramount Parks... why would they even think of mentioning a competitor?
Keep in mind that "Tommy Boy" is a Paramount Film. One of the lines in the film has a dialogue between the characters that goes something like this:
"What is there to do in Sandusky?"
"Absolutely Nothing."
And then everyone has fun tipping cows.

Sounds like a cheap shot to me.

Yes and Paramount owns King Island so by saying there is nothing in sandusky was their cheap shot at cedar point

Medina has 14 people? Better check again... the city and surrounding townships now have about 40,000 residents and the county is growing in population even faster than the Columbus 'burbs.

You gotta wonder why they would make the setting of that movie in Sandusky than, the first thing most people think of when they think of Sandusky is Cedar Point.

NOT defending anyone here, but, Tommy Boy, a Paramount picture, was filmed and released before assuming contol of KI.

just for the sake of accuracy i thought i'd post the exact lines from the movie - the greatest movie of all time btw :)

lowe: so is there anything to do in this town besides eat?
farley: tons of stuff - late night pitch 'n' putt, go to the livestock auction and curse the 4-H babes, throw stuff off the bridge... what do you feel like doing?
lowe: i don't know... something a little more dangerous
farley : sure... all you can handle, bro.
(then they go cow tipping)
I went to KI a few years before the release of Tommy Boy and Paramount had control of it then, so unless you can find the dates of when each happened im still not going to buy that.

I did try to look, not long because i still believe im right but let me know what you come up with.
Hi,

I think I read a post here not too long ago mentioning this "Tommy Boy" movie. There is a scene in an office, in this office on the desk sit a CP coffee mug. This from what I have heard is the only reffrence to CP in the movie (based on the post i read) -wings51
My bad- been in the movie business too long- Tommy Boy was released in 1995. PKI was taken over '93 or '94. Too close to call.

Dave is right. Griffing even has a customs office in the airport building.
