Pick your seat?

I was reading a post in the General section and they were saying that you can't pick your seat for Millenium Force. Could someone please explain the details on this subject?
They count off 36 at a time.
Basically it's like this. The ride ops only allow 36 people onto the loading platform at a time. If you are lucky enough to be at the head of the 36 person group, then you have 1st pick/choice of the seats.
After that it's 1st come 1st served, no waiting on a particular seat. If you're last, then you get what everyone else doesn't want and you're just thankful to have a ride on THE BEST COASTER in the world.

My dad and I have rode 12 times and have never had the front seat.

MF and that's my Final Answer ;)
MF count:12
How about letting people go ahead of you in order to be numbers 1 and 2? I'm sure no one would mind if you made a deal with people outside of the loading platform.
no, they make you go...we saw two guys that were waiting, kind of hanging back, and the ride ops MADE them go...no deals, no nothing, just "you have to go...NOW" but much more politely.

can't believe they cancelled the Simpsons after all these years...now look sad and say D'OH!!
I, for one, am glad this is in place. With the ride being so new, and sooo incredible, everyone would want to ride the front, and people would be bickering over it. I can see it now. Plus the station would get really packed. I also think it would take away from the ride for some wierd reason. When there's less people in the station, there's a better view of the train getting whisked out of the station, and it frightens you more, when you're the only people in that row. Don't know why, but it just seems better like this.
Ok!
I have a LARGE problem with this! (Listen up CP park officials :) ) If I am going to wait for 4 hours or WHATEVER, if I am going to wait at all, I think I should be able to choose a seat! I don't want to sound angry, and if this is just a REALLY temporary thing, I understand, but I just think it is totally outragous! How 'bout a comprimise? Say $3 for Pepsi and WE get to CHOOSE our seats, or at least let people cut in front of us. PLEAAAAASSSEEE!!?!?!?!?!

When I went on Tuesday they assigned seats, but didn't seem to mind when my friend and I let people pass us in line so we could get fron seat. (then again, we did have on home made MF shirts, which the ride ops seemed to like)

Raptor Flights: 12
Force Rides: 9
Force rides 12 / Front seat 0 / Back seat 1
I'm just happy to have so many rides since I live 2 hours away.

You can fool others, but nothing you do is hidden from God.
JESUS rules :) :)
6 rides total 2 riding shotgun!!
JESUS DOES RULE!!!!
I asked a ride op why we couldn't wait for seats. He explained that they did let people sit wherever they wanted on the first two buyout days and everyone wanted the front seat. The line for the front stretched far enough back to block the turnstile and cause confusion loading the platform. They had more than an hour wait for the front and they were having trouble filling the rest of the train. He also said that they don't like the first-come-first-served policy either but they are under pressure from management to keep the platform clear. Hopefully they won't be doing it all summer.
So are there even any bars on the platform to separate seats? Just wondering. It sounds like Disaster Transport. Well I guess I'll just hope for front.
How about this? Instead of counting 36 people into the station at a time, let everyone in and when the line for the front gets too long (causes confusion lets say) cut it off. I know when I was there in '98 I wanted to wait for the front on Raptor, but the front seat queue was full so the op didn't let me. I'd rather be told no once in a while than to have just a 1 in 18 chance of getting the front! :) Of course I'm sure they're probably thinking that if they let a bunch of people wait for the front and then tell some poor sap he can't, he's going to go postal! :)

What could be better than Y2K @ Cedar Point - America's Rockin' Roller Coast?

i was there tuesday and the people in front of me said that they had just gotten off and they were at the point where they could both ride in 1 of the middle seats or catch the next train and get in front. They decided to go then.. turns out the next train didnt leave til 30 minutes later because of rain
