PWE animatronics

When i was in Dinosaurs Alive! yesterday i noticed most of the scenes from PWE were still standing and thought they would be removed by now. Does anybody know why there still standing?

Because they haven't been removed. ;)

More than likely, it's just not worth it to strip them out.

Maybe they plan to use them in a couple years and they're just not telling us. After all, they like to surprise us.

If they were planning on using them, chances are they'd be taking care of them, rather than letting them be damaged by the elements.

Didn't they historically remove or at least cover them in the winter?

The Canfields and McGees scene would've been nice to see somewhere on the island part of the ride.

Do we know they didn't? They may have had them covered during the offseason.

True. Though it would seem like an awful lot of extra work to cover them and uncover them every season, when they could simply remove them, store them and be done with it.

Considering that such is what the park does with the animatronics from CP&LE every winter, I suspect Brandon is right.

Of course he is right, when is he ever wrong? :)

That scene is now part of Cut Throat Cove. Re-done of course.

Surprisingly, I don't think many people noticed them last year

As for removing the old displays, much of them aren't really visible from most locations in the park, so it's probably just not worth the expense.

Don't be ridiculous. It happened once in 1999. Didn't expect Colorado to win that series.

The bottom parts of the canfields and mcgees are still in their buildings and can be seen from behind while on the train.

Minds out of the gutter! As anyone who's ever seen them up close knows, the animatronics only resembled humans from the waist up. They were basically busts mounted on hydraulic platforms, kind of like the pirates in Disneys's POTC ride which are only visible from atop the ship... As you ride the CP and LERR past the mine ride and toward STR, look into the old shack on the left with the window hole cut into it, and you can see that the mechanism which used to lift the animatronics into view is still there.
