Real ride names

OK, let the complaining begin!

Dominator is about the stupidest name I've heard, and recycling Steel Venom is pretty lame. Other than that, I guess I can't complain too much.

Maybe this year I'll finally get to ride Time Warp, which has been closed every time I went since it was installed!

I don't agree with Dominator. They could have done better.

The website is nice though.

I have to agree that Dominator is a horrible name. Time Warp is an excellent ride (when its working) but I prefer Texas Twister. Also its surprising that they didn't name the water park Soak City.
What is with the "Power City." I just hope they take out all of that crappy Gotham City theme next offseason. Other then that, everything is ok, I guess.

Why did they need to rename mind eraser??? Although I do like the name Head Spin.... I don't see the need for that one. Oh, and thunderhawk is a recycle too... it's the name of the "texas twister" (which i have NEVER seen runing at WoA) at Worlds of Fun... only thiers is better because it has watter jets that soak you... my favorite part of that ride is the getting wet...hopefully CF installs those here!!!

I noticed the X-Flight name stuck. Something a lot of people weren't expecting to happen.

I am glad they kept Villain. I love that name, and Head Spin is a cool name for that ride.

I am disappointed that Mr. Hyde's Nasty Fall still remains the name. . .that really isn't my idea of family oriented!! I know like a 3 year old wouldn't be going on that ride anyway, but still, I don't like that name.

Not sure what I think of "Hurricane Hannah," I guess I will have to see what sort of logo is made up to go with it.

I am pleased that it's still "X Flight." That is a fun, well known name.

I'm a bit disappointed in the naming of attractions at the water park, though. . .they all sound the same!!!

"Hmm. . .we don't have anything like that. . .but I can give you this comment card."

Hurricane Hannah and Dominator up for the new suckiest names. I don't mind Thunderhawk at all. I can see some nice theming for this. Also I don't like how SV was blatantly copied. Headspin isn't too bad either. Oh well - time heals all wounds.
What is up with Cuyagoha Logging Co. Ride Sponsered by Pepsi??? If that is the really the name then that would get my vote for suckiest name. Even though not really original, Dominator doesn't seem like too bad of a name. But really, ride names are the least of my worries.

EDIT: I really don't like using ThunderHawk and SV very much either. Just seems too Six Flagsish.

Hmm... funny because Thunderhawk and SV are actually CF names and the actual opposite of Six Flags names, but odd how they are copied. But, you'll have that. Cuyahoga Logging Co. will simply be referred back to it's old name of the first part minus Pepsi. This is no "Pepsi Max Big One" as I don't see many people calling it by it's sponsorer.
Here are my comments on the name changes:

Beaver Land Mine Ride--This is a HORRIBLE name. Isn't this coaster themed in the desert, where there are no beavers? Many teenagers will make fun of this for years to come.

Dominator--I guess I'm the only one who likes this name. It is currently the tallest coaster in the park, so the name fits. I think it's better than Batman Knight Flight anyway.

Head Spin--Was this name changed? Anyway, I like this one.

Thunderhawk--Awsome name, but it's been done already at Dorney

Steel Venom--I don't approve of recycling this name.

If I was naming them, I'd change Thunderhalk to Falcon, Steel Venom to Steel Lightning, and Beaver Land Mine Ride to Desert Chase.

This cracks me up, read the description for Thunderhawk,
"Take flight on the Thunderhawk, Geauga Lake's unique suspending looping coaster."

It's not very 'unique' if you ask me. lol

Well, what other Cedar Fair parks have a hang-n-bang?

I think Thuderhawk and Head Spin should be taken out of their misery after the 2004 season. Dismantle them. Then there will be more room to walk in the Head Spin area. Then a unique, non-coaster attraction can take Thuderhawk's place. Maybe keep it an empty lot for a few years and use the former station as a storage shed.

Hmm... has anyone taken into consideration the time needed to come up with names. And does anyone besides me realize that ALL of the new names come from other CF parks? *cough*DORNEY*cough*

Yeah, if I was in the department that was in charge of naming all of these rides and marketing them, I would have been gone nuts at the announcement of the acquisition of the park. From having relatively little work to do to having to name a whole park full of rides, I'm sure they are glad they got it all done. So what if a few of the names aren't cool enough for you guys.

When Wicked Twister was first announced people were upset by the name too, but it's grown on everyone since then.

"from having relatively little work to do" ???

You obviously haven't been in the marketing department before the park opens. They had this thrown on tehm BESIDES thier normal ramp up. Toss onto the fire all the questions about the aquisition itself...

Some people are never happy...
