Cheap. Thrifty is a better word.

Nope, Cheap....Look I paid 20 bucks for a short(realshort) zipline ride on Slotzilla in Vegas. 25 bucks for ride on the Slingshot seems fair. We who live close to CP want to get the most out of a little, but we are the few compaired to who attends. Heck even the food prices aren't terrible considering. I just took my wife to Vegas on our 20th, the trip cost for 6 days - 5 nights of alot of walking, homeless watching, drunken people - but still alot of fun was 4,500 bucks. so I am glad to be back in the land of affordability. I forgot to mention the High Roller (550" observation wheel) cost me a cheap 36.50 each to ride.

It doesn't seem that dropping $100 for a family of 4, followed by getting barked at to pay even more for the video afterwards is the best way to spend 10 minutes of my life. I guess I'm cheap.

Do we have all the pricing details? I would imagine that a single flight for one person would be $25, while a single flight for two would be less than $50.

After spending an evening at Blossom Music Center recently, I will never, ever complain about the price of food and drinks at CP.

What show did you go to at Blossom? I was there on Friday, and found that Livenation is just ruining the place.

It is, you should try it sometime.

It was Jimmy Buffett last Tuesday. The show was great, the price of everything at Blossom was awful though.

Needless to say, SlingShot is now open. :)

And pardon me for another stupid question, but considering that I've never been around a Sling Shot ride before, I'm wondering: in what form do they distribute the on-ride videos? (To clarify: do they give you a DVD of your ride or something?)

You can watch the launch in real time at the station, and after your ride. They put it in DVD for $20.

A DVD? They don't give a thumb drive? For Michigan's Adventure's Ripcord this year, they give you a cool printed, MA branded, light-up thumb drive for $10.

Now, think about this a second. You don't want a ride like Slingshot to be too cheap, do you? It's a two person ride with, what, a 5 minute cycle? The cheaper it gets the longer the line gets, then the Capacity Police get all mad. Don't make the Capacity Police mad.

Agreed. Can you imagine how long that line would take if it was a free!

Agreed, it would make waiting for Top Thrill Dragster, Millennium Force, and Maverick look like a short sprint worthy of the Olympics.

Just one flip? I like at least two, better three.
The other interesting thing, and maybe it's the new vehicle, but the riders rock forward quite a bit during the initial launch. That would be fun.

Speaking of up charge, once we were in line for the ride at KI early in the morning. There was a group of three ahead of us in line and it looked like a mom and maybe one of her grown kids with a date. I wondered how that as going to work out, seating-wise, but we didn't ask- they were talking amongst themselves during the 20 minute wait. From what I could gather, for what it's worth, they didn't seem like the sharpest knives in the drawer either.

Anyway, when they finally got there the girl asked for their tickets and they said "uh, what tickets?" She explained to them it was an up charge attraction and said when the ride came down they could go ahead and cut over to the booth without losing their spot and even offered them the ten buck early morning rate. Nice, huh? They just said "uh..... no." and left after waiting all that time.

Anyone ridden this beast yet? Looking forward to your reviews!

^ Yep, rode it yesterday (July 2nd)around 6pm. Tried going at 3:30pm and they were already taking reservations for later in the evening! (5 minutes apart with your 2 names on a sheet). After hearing that we were NOT allowed to board as single riders, I was a little leary about parting with my end of the $25 (hey, that's 3 kids meals at Fridays on the Beach, haha!) but finally got peer pressured by my family and one of our friends 11 year old son who also wanted to go on. Platinum pass brought it to $45 for the two of us.
BTW, It's nice to see lots of crowds around watching people get launched on this. Long story short, I absolutely loved the launch of the ride (laying on your back looking straight up at the sky). It was a totally different feeling from the Power Tower fast shot side (which I'm not a fan of) and it was definitely surreal looking over in the distance and down at Millenium Force's 1st hill in the distance. Our seats did flip twice. Yes, I would pay the $25 and do it again!!!

Mac, We experienced the EXACT same thing in front of our group! Alot of this will be seen since you can just walk up the entrance ramp. People didn't realize that you had to present the operator with a print out ticket in order to get on.

I saw some people on there today after being shot up who were sitting in the position that the slingshot stops in in the air before it lowers them back down for over a half an hour before they finally got them down! I'm still planning on riding it tomorrow though! It looks so fun! Also fyi, I saw one man and his daughter get turned away because his seat would not latch. He was not very large and I bet he fit on probably all the other rides at CP, maybe aside from WT since the restraints look pretty similar. Pretty fun to sit over in the shade by the bathrooms and watch it launch too.
Update: Rode it today and loved it so much! Really a unique ride, although I've never been on any of the similar ones around the country. I would definitely ride it again!!
