Something's coming...

It's getting to be that time. I was at the park yesterday when I noticed something interesting. It's possible that it's been there all along this season, but this is the first time I've noticed it. There is a series of orange dots in a line from near the Troika exit towards the Corkscrew station. There is also an orange stake on the treeline near the helix before Iron Dragon's 2nd lift. After looking at Terraserver, it's possible that this stake is in the same line as the dots mentioned above.

Could all this be a marker for some future development? Could it be a utility survey? We may never know.

Just stoking the fire,

Well the new ride will need electricity, right?

There are also a series of orange dashes over near Chaos, to the left and behind the Guessing Game that go down the trail leading towards Area 51. Very interesting to say the least.

Is there a ride anywhere on the peninsula that doesn't use electricity (and don't say the train because there's a generator on board to power the headlamp)??

Antique Cars. They use gas or something right.
How about Swan boats. Or Sir Rub-A-Dub's Tubs.
Walking from where I work to clock out I was walking by Chaos and saw a giant crane on Millennium Island. so hmmm that makes ya think.

CoasterGallery just added new pics of Wicked Twister to the CP gallery. One of the descriptions for a picture reads "Wicked Twister is CP's fifteenth coaster! Presently, there is construction occurring by the CP Lagoons. Could the sixteenth coaster be on the way? Look for an official announcement in a few weeks!" Is he just using "a few weeks" as a general guess about time or do you think he knows something? Remember, WT wasn't announced early because its construction did not begin until later in the season....MF on the other hand was, when they had to start work early just to get it done on time. Hmmm..

::edit:: Yes, I saw the crane on Millennium Island today on the webcam in the morning. Is it just me, or is there a definite shape to the clearing on Millennium Island...overbanked turn anyone?

I saw it too. The crane is there. The area is also staked out very well and looks ready to go. I looked at area 51 the other day and it looks the same except grown over. Does anyone know what is beneath the blue tarp? Has it been in place the whole season?

Someone said there was another footer under the blue tarp, but I'm not sure what it is. I missed the crane, but I'll look at the webcam tommorow.

Who finally met the infamous Magnum Dan!

Travis, it is my understanding that the blue tarp has been there all season. If you look at pictures of it, it is much larger than the other two footers and it is rumored to be housing electrical equipment.

Ralph, you may not be looking for a crane. I saw what I thought to be a crane, but it very well could have been a very large cherry picker. Regardless, it was there to do major work as work tools as tall as the trees on Millennium Island are not common fixtures.

I can back up MagnumAllan in regards to the large cherry picker type vehicle. I didn't know what it was, but I thought maybe it was an earth mover.

It may just be the cherry picker they use when MF valleys.
Why would they have it there when it hasn't been there all season, and MF hasn't valleyed since May?
