Souvenir photographers

Now we all know that when you first enter the park, there are employees taking pictures for souvenirs. I know every amusement park does this and I think it is a good idea, but my only problem with the way it's done at CP is that the location that they take your picture in ls just awful.

At KI, they can Take your picture in front of the KI sign with the fountains in the background. At Disney world you have all those Kodak picture spots. At CP, its just a boring picture with the the park entrance in the background. That is very unappealing in my opinion. If they were to take your picture with some of the coasters or at least something interesting in the background it would probably increase the number of sales.

My girlfriend and always take one picture when we go, but when we go look at it in the photo station, its just not worth that much money for such a bland background.

Outside of Disney, I always tell the photographer where I will stand, not the other way around.

I think the problem is that the park doesn't really have a signature structure. Like KI and KD have the Eiffel tower, CW has wonder mountain, Carowinds has their sign and the bridge, Magic Kingdom has the castle, Epcot has the globe and so on. A lot of the parks have a signature structure at the front of the park when you enter. The original Cedar Fair parks lack that. I think it all goes back to the lack of theming.

I think a picture in front of WindSeeker would be really nice near the beach.

The carrousel would make a nice background. Depending on where you stand, you should be able to get a decent skyline of Dragster, Power Tower, Sky Ride, Raptor, the CP Water Tower, etc. There is no single structure but there is something other then a blank background.

But there isn't anywhere else around the park where the photographers stand. They are only at the Main gates and by that snoopy statue. they should be in more than those three places. Id love to be able to get a picture in front of Windseeker, Maverick, Millenium sign, etc... There are other places they can have the photographers stand throughout the park.

Every time we go as guests, we always ask them if they can get, for example, Dragster in the background and every time they agree to it without a problem at all. Actually, on my most recent trip to Kings Island this summer, they rushed us into taking our picture, the only thing we got in the background was Kings Island's entrance which isn't very appealing either.

One thing I wish Cedar Point would adopt from some of the other parks is the option to buy and print your pictures (which are archived) online from the website on the back of the photo ticket stub, instead of having until park closing to view your picture.

It would also be nice if Cedar Point had 2 or 3 other photographers roaming at the other 3 entrances on point. The beach entrance would make a great backdrop for your picture, not to mention Windseeker and Wicked Twister is right there. The resort guests would be granted the opportunity to have their group pictures professionally taken as well. Just a thought.

There are photographers at the resort (Magnum) gate every time I go through there.

I've seen them wandering the park pretty often, at least on busier days. I know I've been stopped to take my picture on the Frontier Trail more than once.

They do have this. There is a website on the bottom of the ticket they give you and you can view them online the next day.

I just say no thanks and walk on by.

We got our picture taken in front of a gargoyle during Halloweekends one year.

The picture turned out funny because it looked like the gargoyle was perched on my brother's arm.

That's one of my problems with the photographers: They never take "no" for an answer for me!

In all of the Walt Disney World parks, I never had that problem, but at Cedar Point, they always make us stay for a picture, even when you say "no."

I just say "no thanks" and politely ignore them afterward. Many times I have all my camera gear with me and they do not even ask, they get the hint :)

I think one of the worst places to put the photographers is in the lazy river at Soak City.

I like the idea but hate the amount of garbage they produce. All the backing from the bracelets they give you are always floating in the water or the photographers just throw the pieces over the side of the river in the grass.

Yeah, I think it's either on the very bottom of the little ticket they give you or on the back... But there is a website you go to. You follow the directions on the site, put in the number that is given to you on your ticket and then it should bring it up.
