Spent some time at Carrowinds....Wow!

Yelling at me to sit down and buckle up when I'm still between the loading gates and the train? When people still haven't gotten off yet? Then slamming the gate on me when I can't move forward any more and I can't yet board the train?

How about politely encouraging people to get up?

Yeah, yell at me to hurry up when I can't do anything and I'll just slow down..

I've never seen them yell at people to hurry up and get in their seats. With that said, it always amazes me how slow guests enter rides. It gets very annoying when you're trying to provide efficiency by hitting interval, but that just means as a crew member, YOU have to move your ass. Don't yell at the guests to.

I found Fury 325 loading to be quite efficient when I went. Also, it was entertaining to hear the ride operator say "seat belts first, then lap bar. Seat belts, then lap bar" about a dozen times over and over after the gates opened.

They say that on MS and on some other rides at CP also, seems to help guests get strapped in quicker. While ride ops shouldn't be mean, it was quite common at CP to hear ride ops say enter the train quickly but carefully. You don't hear that much these days, I think it is good that Carowinds is trying to get guests to speed up. It's not just ride ops needing to bust their butts, it is just common courtesy to have guests not slow down the works as a courtesy to people waiting behind them.

than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

^^Kings Island does not have metal detectors permanently, only during various unannounced times during the regular season. During Haunt security does increase a bit (bag & body wand checks)

Correct, but they did have permanent metal detectors installed as recently as 3-4 years ago, right outside the gate where you present your pass/ticket. They often times weren't turned on, except for Haunt, at which time they were on but apparently set to a very low sensitivity, since waves of people flew threw them faster than security could have ever stopped anyone.

As I recall, Rideman said in the that few years that the detectors were still installed at KI, they were either not working or just not on.

P.S. - it would be cool if we could tag a member in a post to bring thier attention to it. Like we can do on Facebook or Twitter. I realize that might not be possible. Just a wish list kind of thing I suppose. :-)

Now that I think of it, they were saying something about getting the train ready in 30 seconds. Not sure where I got that 20 seconds from. And so when the train going up the lift had gone over, the train in the station would be pulling out. Yeah Kings Island had metal detectors from 2001 up till around 2010 or 2011, they still had them for awhile but did not use them.

While I don't appreciate being screamed at before/while boarding the trains at any park, the absolute indifference by the Diamondback Crew/s at KI over multiple visits this season was downright puzzling.

Cedar Point ride hosts have been friendly/not overbearing for the majority of my visits as usual, which I'd chalk up partially to having Cedar Fair Headquarters literally in the park.

With the Golden Tickets being held there this year, I would imagine an even higher level of guest relations. Perhaps even in the food service stands.... Nah, thats never gonna happen.

My food experiences have been absolutely AMAZING this year. Never have I been given something by Cedar Point for a simple inconvenience until this year. I never expected it, and it was a simple mistake that wasn't even the worker's fault. The worker and his supervisor went WAY above and beyond to fix the issue, and were just wonderful and very apologetic. This happened on 4 different occasions that I can easily recall. I have to say that whoever is running the foods department this year is doing an awesome job (or the simple makeover the department has received in terms of policy). Needless to say, all of those workers received a great guest compliment from us. Little things like that is how you get guests to come back.

FYI - Dispatch interval is from the time when Train 1 leaves the station to when Train 2 leaves the station, and includes the duration of time it takes for Train 1 to exit and Train 2 to arrive. 30 seconds to unload and reload, I can be okay with, but not a 30 second dispatch interval.
