T minus 14 hours....

....and I begin that legendary (and far-too-long) drive from Kansas City to Cedar Point. Booked for three days of pure unadulterated thrill rides! I can hardly wait....

Couple questions before I head out....

First, any advice on roads? Getting to Northern Ohio is simple enough, but it's mainly "back roads" from there and I like to be warned ahead of time. Usually we go the 6-2-250 route, but that's usually after I visit my family around Tiffin, so we take 53 north and catch 6 at Fremont. This time we'll be driving straight through, so we'll get off I-75 and work our way from there. I thought someone here mentioned that 6 was torn up west of Fremont...or was it east...so maybe that's a bad pick altogether. Any navigators care to suggest a better route coming off I-75? Feel free to suggest any route, I still know the area well.

Second, we'll be using our Worlds of Fun passes to get in. We're staying at the Breakers, so my question is this: can we use the passes at the east gate? Or do we have to (somehow) get all the way around to the front of the park and visit Guest Services? That has the potential to be a pain....or can you walk around on the beach side? I've never known if they have that fenced off or what.
How long of a drive is it?
Depending on your speed and the roads, anywhere from 10 to 14 hours. Yech. And I'm doing this fresh off an 8-hour-each-way trip to Chicago...humans shouldn't be subjected to such torture :)

You can use your passes at the resort gate, since apparently Mr. Cahill did it last week. You'll have to fill out a small form or something by going in to that glass door next to the ticket windows.
