The Cedar Point sign

Remember the old Cedar Point sign that stood on the corner of Cleveland Road and the causeway? It was taken down about 1996 or so. At the time they said that a new sign was to be put up because the old one was 33 years old and no longer structurely sound. Do you think a sign needs to be there or not?
I think there is a picture of it on Virtual Midway. It's in the history section under Misc. I don't think there "needs" to be a sign because most people know where there are going. It would be nice if there was a big fancy sign out at the end of the causeway. I like the one at Great America.

I remember that! Now they just have those boring signs that say: Cedar Point: Keep right. They should bring that one back!

163 days until they reopen!

I don't really know if a sign that big is needed at the start of the causeway, but I will agree that better direction signage is needed from the Rye Beach Road exit of Route 2. I know exactly where I'm going of course, but I can see how someone would get off the highway there and be like, "where the hell am I - this can't be right!" :)

A few people brought this topic up back in June. You can read more about it here:

I remember seeing the sign on school trips and singing "I saw the sign"! Do they still have the sign, or is it junk? That could work for the town hall museum!? Probably too big. I loved that sign.
