The concrete is a flyin'

The concrete pumping truck started early this morning, fresh new concrete can now be seen where the line will be. They must have started at dawn to get that much done already!
I guess we'll find out soon how many (if any) trees will be planted in the que area. Does anyone know if they're planning to have trees or if they decided on the Power Tower type que covers?
I doubt they will plant any trees for cover. I don't think they will grow fast enough to provide cover anyway.

I doubt they'll plant trees, but it sure would make the area look nicer, even if they don't provide any kind of cover.

That was the point I was trying to get to when I was talking about landscaping. I think there needs to be more trees at CP.
They should plant pines like the ones surrounding Magnum's line. When they were first put in, they were small, but no they they make Magnum's line one of the most secluded parts of the park!

Where is there room for pine trees? It looks like there may be two small areas for some type of landscaping within the queue. My *guess* is that it will be either shrubs or small trees. Think Raptor and Mantis. Then again, what do I know?

On Bsdnitris' POV annimation, there where red que covers. Did he just make that up?
From looking at the webcam, it's depressing to see all of that concrete and realizing that it will usually be all the way full plus overflow in to the midway. Man, what a long wait. :(

Don't worry Jeff-I understand :)

Actually, since they were using a concrete pump, technically,it was airborne for a few seconds before it hit the ground... Just had to be a wise guy

I just checked out the webcam. The queue slabs now appear to have expansion joints cut into them, or at least I'm guessing based on the grid formation now on them. Looks like they've benefited from the dry weather this week and the wonder of quick-drying concrete. I would expect the actual queue rails to installed any day now.

Looks like that might have it done this weekend. But the queue line looks like it will be the longest in the park.
I suspect that Mean Streak's will still give it a run for its money.
I always thought mean streak was the biggest there but this does look a bit bigger,I can understand why.

I have another question for any concrete guru's out there-I figured it would be easier for them to have placed the queue line poles in the ground and poured concrete around them, at least the uprights. Instead it looks like they drill or knock the holes into the concrete to do this-any reason why? I certainly wonder about the dumbest things...

Speaking of long waits: Does anyone in the know have any official word on queue line entertainment yet? Obviously since the plans for the queue are now "in cement", any space alotted for a dj booth or whatever would have been decided already.

I guess we have to wait and see what the actually queue line will look like. But, yes, Theres no question Mean Streak's queue line is the longest in the park, so far...
hey parrothead, yeah i made those red queue covers up, i just took em from mantis... i assume there will be some form of shade since there arent any trees or anything blocking the sun...
I was there this morning and the concrete is really flying. Their equipment can be heard from all around the park. They are getting ready to tear out some concrete, so that they can put more in, and they are busy on the queues.
Rob - To answer your question.. Mostlikely they put the queue rails into place after so if any of them need to be removed or replaced, they can do that without much hassle.
