The fast pass system

servo: I really don't appreciate people calling me a jerk, just because your mad about TTR doesnt mean you should yell at other people. I did everything like I should, and I found some of the many holes in the system, so I used them to my advantage. I am sure I am not the only one. The people at the gate noticed that I was riding a lot, but they didn't stop me, they just said "You really like this thing, huh?" Maybe they even took note of that and will change the system. But for now I know I'm not going to be as lucky the next time I go. So I still hate the TTR system, and feel very badly for people that get screwed because of it. If I ever had extra tickets, I gave them to someone who wanted or needed them. But I still have hope that TTR will be fixed and flawless, or be taken out. It hasn't even been a week since it started. Also, I think it's perfectly fine to not go to the park because of TTR, its your right as a free citizen. You can do what you want. Some people might feel it's ridiculous to do that, but they also have the right as a free citizen to say that. Just let people be, and hopefully we will get through all of this nonsense together, we all have one common goal, and thats to fix, or get rid of the TTR system.

I thought I would go another night and see if it improved. In a nutshell...NO. First of all to answer servo's ? of how many rides I got tuesday night. 2 on MF (after 8pm) and...0 on raptor...0 on magnum...0 on mantis. my friend and I rode gemini and chaos. Why those?? We got there at 6 found out there were no tickets for MF killing another 10-15 minutes. Seeing the entire ques (each one on raptor and mantis and most all of magnum) full; we knew we would be waiting in line along time for MF if we rode one of those. Am I opposed to a long MF wait..NO. I am opposed to a long wait for ALL their other rides and a LONG wait then for MF. IF you don't have a fast pass ticket and show up for the starlight you wait in line A LONG time for every ride. I am opposed to fast pass because I would rather wait in a moderate to what some people say long line (30 minutes to a max of 90 minutes) for MF and a short line 30 minutes for the other rides; then wait in line for A Long line for ALL the rides. That is what happens if you have no ticket. I am opposed to long lines for every single ride. Talking to people in line about it, each person said they hated it. One group had their fast pass tickets 1-2 in the afternoon; the ride broke down during that hour. The op's said come back later. they came back after 2 and were turned away for not being on time. They waisted 45 minutes getting their ticket (which they told me) and that whole hour. Now if CP would let them in the que during that hour when the ride was broke that is one thing. But their system as it stands now is a joke. SFO and villain will be seeing alot more of me this summer if this keeps up. BTW-servo I managed a whopping 1 ride on raptor tonight.

CP Guy... don't start talking economics unless you really know what you're talking about.

No, I haven't seen the system first hand, and with the basic accounts of what happens when people go for the evening, there's little reason to. I've been on the other rides hundreds of times. I'm a season pass holder so I can get my fill of the new ride. If I can get there by 4 p.m., what good does it do my if I can't even queue until 8:30?

Tonight, I went to SFO. It's still the most insanely poor park op I've ever seen. Walter and Claude would cry if they saw their floorless wonder rattling all over and stacking trains.

It's a shame that the legendary capacity park is doing what it is. What did they do when Corkscrew had three hour waits in 1976 and you didn't have 13 other coasters?

Word around the 12 E water cooler is the if the TTR works out for the holiday weekend they will start to imply the system on Raptor, Mantis, Disaster Transport and possibly Power Tower. I would recommend that everyone opposed to the system going during the holiday weekend stand in the other long line, the complaint line at guest services.

Dispatch Master, This is Transport one! I'm losing control, I'm losing control!
I may hate the TTR system and feel it screwed me last Saturday. I may dislike the abuse of the TTR system and not like some of these posts, but how are we who dislike the system supposed to vent our frustrations?

BTW how can CP ignore all of the negative responses to this system? And if I choose to boycot the park then there will be 2 less people in line for MF. My daughter and me.

CP I would have expected a plan that at least had some planning before it was put to use. Forrest Gump could have come up with a better idea. The daily tickets and season passes have barcodes on them. Why not implement a system where the bar codes keep track of the individules and thus prevent most of the abuse. If scanners were used instead of bar code readers, the scanning process would be faster. Some stores have scanners located along the aisles so you can scan a barcode to determine the price if an item isn't marked. So if you forget your scheduled time you could check it yourself. If you have to have a system, at least scrap the old one until you can find one that works and not put everyone through this misery.

The abuse your refering to is hopefuly Cedar Point abuse of how they run the system, cause its not people who are abusing it. Cedar Point lets you get more then one ticket, and Cedar Point doesn't collect tickets when they merge the non-ticket riders in. If Cedar Point was against all of this they would at least put up signs with the rules. But if they eventualy do, then what does that mean, everyone who comes to the park can only ride 2 times the entire day (once with a ticket, and once after 8)? But I guess that's better then no rides that some people get. TTR needs to go bye bye, no matter how you look at it, right now it doesn't work. As far as down the road goes, they better start moving and correct it. Maybe, we won't see it working until the other rides mentioned start it.

Maybe well standing in line for the MF we could pass around a clip board and get signatures of people who dislike the TTR system, then give it to Park Operations. It will be interesting what they say when you hand it to them. But maybe we should wait just a little bit longer until they've had time to "review the system" and work out the bugs.

As an "out of Towner" who will be making his once a year, 500 mile+ trip for a few days in August, here's the way I see it:

1- I've never been on it yet, or even SEEN it in person.
2- I go once a year, drive a hellaciously long drive and stay at Breakers (total bill for 5 nights in August: $750
3- I spend mucho bucks on food and beverages per day
4- I've had my reservation at Breakers paid for since April, as well as gotten the time off from work reserved since April
5- I thuroughly have every intention of using TTR to my advantage by exploiting the holes in the system.
I'm not saying I'm entitled to do this, it is simply what I will do. For all the hassle and expense it's taking me to get to the park for MF, I'll be damned if I'm taking that long drive and financial pain and doing one ride per day.
No Hurricane_6, the abuse I'm talking about is where people scarf up multiple ride tickets. People could try to use these or other arguements:
1) CP lets you do it
2) There are holes in the system
3) I'm going to exploit the system to "my" advantage

But it's kind of like the IRS and your taxes. People know full well what is right and what isn't right. Sure, at CP, there are no penalties, but the system was not designed for anyone to scarf up multiple tickets. It was probably designed thinking that most riders would use it responsibly. But it has turned into a royal mess.
CP management has deteoriated and this is what we get. A system with almost no thought and at the very least really poor planning. I vote for letting Forrest Gump come up with an idea to bail us out. At least he would give it some thought first.

This system goes to prove my point when I tell people about big business. Businesses are run by morons whose only goal in life is the gaining of power and control. Most of their decisions are not based on facts or intellegence, but with a "you're going to do it my way or else" attitude.
If CP really cared about their visitors, then they would have had a backup plan before the current one was started.

This post is not being directed to any specific indivual, only a collection of my thoughts and frustrations:)

Folks... I'm going to close this thread because it's sheer size is making the thread unmanageable to certain browsers. It is continued in the "part 2" post:
