the "have you met Monty Jasper thread"

Just had to mention that I met Monty for the first (and probably only) time this past weekend. MF was having big mechanical problems this weekend; Monty and the director of park ops (big guy - can't remember the name) were checking things out and I happened to recognize him.

Monty's kinda short - struck me as being a nice guy but a real pain in the ass to work for. As a guest I suppose that's good.
I met him too! I shook his hand and said something like "thank you so much for helping build this incredible rollercoaster. I love it. Also, thank you for keeping the MF diary updated so well on the CP sight." To which he replied,"You're very welcome, the diary was the easy part!" or something along those lines. He seemed very nice and smiled a lot

:) "if aquarium gravel is so bad for you... how come it tastes so good?" :)
He said the same thing to me when I mentioned the diary!! Wonder how many people have introduced themselves to him after he gave the invite on the website...

The other guy was probably Bill Sphen.

Monty seems like a nice guy, but I'm not sure exactly why anyone would want to pay more than a grand to have lunch with him...

My husband & I met Monty on opening day. He was in the control booth for MF and we were waiting in line for the front seat.(the good old days when we were able to do that) When he came out of the booth I shook his hand and thanked him especially for the diary...told him that the diary & pictures really helped pass the long winter of waiting for the new coaster. I was so glad that I got the chance to thank him.
He was nice to me and helped me unlock that darn seatbelt on MF on opening day. I still have problems with those seatbelts!

I met Monty on Press Day-what a sweetheart he was-reconized him from his pic on the website! Couldnt remember his last name for the life of myself either but didnt seem to bother him-he was still sweet as hell.
I told him I considered his crew my "heros" and told him I had downloaded their pic and hung it at my desk at work.
He should be a proud man with MF!
