The "You might not be able to ride" sign

Okay I am a big guy and the last time I was at the point I saw a sign that said "You May Not Be able to rides this ride". This kinda scared me, I knew the lapbars fit so why would somone not be able to ride?

The seatbelt may not be able to fasten. It's a standard over-the-lap belt, with very little slack on it. They have a test seat at the entrance-- That way you won't be waiting in line if you don't fit into the seat belt. I myself was afraid that I wouldn't be able to ride it, but the test seat confirmed that I would be able to ride.

What is the limit to how tall you can be? I am going next week and one of the people I am going with is 6'5... I hope he can ride...

There is no maximum height limit. It's more of a girth limit. Have any doubts? Take a seat in the test seat in front of the ride and make sure you can fasten the seat belt. It's really not a big deal.

Rideman,
While you are correct about a maximum height limit, I am reminded about the time in 1981 when, Magic Johnson, Jay Vincent, Herb Williams, Isiah Thomas and another NBA player were spending the day at the Point. At one point in the early afternoon, one of the area managers from Ride Operations tracked the group down and asked them to please refrain from riding the coasters.(all except Isiah)Because of their extreme height, all are over 6'10", it took them too long to enter and exit the ride thus causing a "shutdown" because the trains could not meet the dispatch interval.
The group was mildly disappointed and headed over to the games area where they proceeded to spend large amounts of money trying to win the plush.

The only adult coaster which presents a problem for me is the Mine Ride. I haven't been on it since high school because even then I had extreme difficulty getting my legs to fit. Maybe if I try again in the front seat? Does it have more leg room? Other than Mine Ride, height is not a problem on any other coaster (as long as I sit in the front seat of the WildCat).

Walt,
I have been on the Mine Ride a number of times already this year. (8 year old finally hit 48" and LOVES the coasters!)
Sit in the first seat of any car, cross your ankles and pray!
Hey, if I can fit I think you could.
Try it, so what if you have a lapbar embedded in your gut!
On Mine Ride it may help to try a different seat or a different train. It seems that the lap bar latches are not in the exact same position on all seats. Perhaps I should investigate this further and figure out where the bigger seats are.....

I found that it also helped to straddle the lap bar, with the caveat that to do that you MUST sit up straight and back far enough for the lap bar support to almost touch the front of the seat. Trouble is, this year's crew was not allowing me to do that.....

My dad is 6'2'' and a stocky man, and he fit into the MF seats fairly well. The ride-op helped him put the seat belt on.

Actually, I did have a problem getting a tall man in not too long ago. He was not heavy by any means, just really tall. His legs were too long to ride and he actually had to wait for the next train so he could sit in the back row of the car. Apparently, the second row offers a Little bit more leg room because he fit (barely).

Old Timer Tim,

So did they go to the basketball shooting game? That would have showed the Point to mess with them. ;)
