Three train operation?

I am making my yearly trip to cp this weekend, memorial day weekend and wanted to know if it will be running. Has anyone been there over the last few days to see if it will be running full speed ahead? (3 trains?)

I cant wait.....
Yesterday, Tues, only the blue and yellow trains were running. I asked an op what the status on 3 train operation is looking like and she was unsure.

(Sorry, visited on Wed last week)

Oops... I rode it again! *** This post was edited by jonC on 5/25/2000. ***
Within the past few hours it was posted to rec.roller-coaster that Millennium Force is running three trains today.

This is third-hand information provided second-hand to Sean Flaharty, so you may want to wait for eyewitness confirmation to be sure.

Are you sure you want to go over Memorial Weekend, considering the horrible weather ahead.

My dad(Scooter) and I went yesterday and today. Yesterday they were only running two trains, but today ALL THREE WERE RUNNING!!!!!! We got in line as soon as the gate opened, rode in the first train, and then got back in line and only had to wait 1 hour 15 min with almost a full queue.

Uh, jonC, you're confusing the heck out of me.

According to my calendar, TODAY (5/24) is Wednesday. Are you saying that two trains, blue and yellow were running yesterday, TUESDAY??

I just returned from my annual trip today and to sum up this topic-

Tues - Blue and Yellow
Wed - All three were testing early (with ride set-ups apparently) and they opened all three to riders at 10:00. AND, I might add, those riders were getting stopped near the top of the hill for about 5 or 6 seconds!!!

So what does everyone think, can they be allowing the ride to setup and get it reset that quick or is this the new trick to running all 3?
wow, that's really interesting that they are getting stuck...that must take so much away from the ride, too...Gooober, can you corroborate this? were you getting stuck at the top for a few seconds today???

Hey guys. Im going to the Point tomarrow. does anyone know if all three trains will be running? or will it be open for sure even?
thanx
I bet that the 5 second stop at the top, will gradually get smaller as they speed up during the day. It's probably just there to ease them into the 3 train operation, and will probably dissapear pretty quickly once they get into the swing of things, but what do I know? Just an educated guess.

From what I have been told from my sources is that they wanted to have it set up where all three trains advanced at the same time. One goes up the lift, then the one in unload station goes to the load station, and the one on the readies goes into the unload station.

God i hope you're right. the thing that makes the lift hill so fantastic, for me anyways, is the fact that you are just THROWN over it, no time to think, no time to look down, heck, no time to BREATHE before you're going up and over!!!

THREE TRAIN UPDATE

They only ran three trains today for an hour and a half before they started to have problems. On the brite side tommarow morning (thur 5/25)from 8-9 some employees were asked to ride so that the MF crew could get the timeing down. Just a little update for you all.

Here is the final update. They were running three trains in the morning and evening today. As I was there this afternoon and evening. Trains were stopping at the top of the lift in the morning as a relay on one of the trains was bad. They removed that train fixed the problem and put it back on. I got in line for MF around 4:30 and all 3 were running then. The wait was around 40 minutes (SWEET). (Rode 3 times) I asked the lovely ride op 'Eve' in the station if they would continue 3 train operation and she said today was the first and they hoped to continue it. Another note here is that the antirollback on the red and yellow train engaged for about a second or two at the top of the lift a few times. Also the yellow train antirollback engaged a few times when starting up the lift a few times. As usual the blue train was perfect. As far as stacking is concerned. We should not have to worry. What happens is this: When the train running on the track comes to the end and enters the first brakes before the exit station, right about that time the train in the loading station leaves and the train in the exit station moves into the loading station. Thus the train on the track glides into the exit station perfectly just as if there were only two trains running. I only saw two times of the 3 hours riding when all three trains were stacked (one entrance one exit and one brakes before exit station). But don't worry they were only like that for a minute max. Well that was long. But I think that should answer most of the questions. :)

forgot to update my track record *** This post was edited by Hooper on 5/25/2000. ***
Thanks for that tidbit Hooper. From what these posts are saying, it sounds like the 3 train operation REALLY speeds up the wait. It is looking good...

Times I have "Gone Full Force" on MF: 2
When we rode this morning our train did not stop for the short few second interval on the lift hill. We rode MF 1st train out, got back in line for a 1 1/4 hour wait and left because we were worn out from our 6 trips to CP this year.

The line was back to the pepsi machines. Basically I walked through those two que's and up the ramp. That was around 40-45 minutes. :)

Hmmm... and the Pepsi machines are sort of a half-way point. Who said normal waits would be around two hours on busy days? ;)
