And so it is.. A dive coaster.. Y a y. Where's my enthusiasm?

People please look up sarcasm... The interwebs are full of it. Don't take every post literally.

I know right, a 200+ foot ride that drops you straight down is sooooo boring. This is the first 200+ footer coaster they've gotten in over 15 years! Everyone should be excited! Unless you just don't like high thrill roller coasters.

Thank you for your suggestion that 'Everyone should be excited!'

Duly noted. 😒

Introducing a new type of coaster to the park's market seems like a pretty solid move to me.

I'm a Marxist, of the Groucho sort.

Well, I'm excited! I think a dive coaster is a great addition to the park, especially since Cedar Point doesn't currently have one. Just as converting Mantis to a floorless coaster was a great move (I probably rode it five times last Friday and enjoyed every minute of it!)

Yes, I'd like to see them do an RMC conversion for Mean Streak, and I imagine the only reason they haven't torn it down yet is they intend to do that at some point. I live in Texas, and have ridden Texas Giant and Iron Rattler many times. Both are fantastic and the best coasters in their respective parks. So, I'm really hoping that happens at CP.

I know I'll make another trip to CP next year to ride Valravn. :)

Knott's announced a comprehensive restoration of GhostRider today. Perhaps that could be the trial for Mean Streak. They didn't specify exactly what they were doing though.

I really want to know if the park is going to acknowledge the track in any way. Here is how I imagine it happening if any one asks. ;)

Reporter: "Hey Mr. Ouimet! What are those random pieces of B&M track doing sitting over by BE?"

Ouimet: "I assure you, it is just a training exercise."

I don't think they would have that fence and a countdown for a dark ride.

Neither do I. They have it for the ruse.

while we are on the subject, if the park were to actually go through with building this 223 foot Dive Coaster we've all known about for months, I'd be shocked if they didn't rename it because of a completely unrelated incident so late in the design process.

For those who have actually been on a dive coaster, what is the loading procedure like? If there are 8 to 10 seats how difficult it is to plan your position in line that you're able to ride with your friends / family?

Busch usually assigns rows, so as long as your group isnt more then 8 people (rumor has this coaster will have 10 across) you should easily be able to sit with your group.

On Griffon at Busch Gardens Williamsburg, it was a free for all. It was chaotic and maddening. Though I know we won't have to worry about that at Cedar Point.

I'm excited, no doubt. The unofficial layout.. Just seems .. So.. Vanilla. Can't knock it until I rock it though. Or at least until we know more ;)

I was just looking at the forum...B&m track spoted ...those that were delivered today are not the ones in the other picture. Yes, same color but, different sections. So, Im guessing those were teaser tracks placed outside. If they were finished I would thk they might have been delivered before these. Check it out.
