Update: 5/28 aerial and staging area

I really, really don't think "2 and 2" means anything special. It was just a figure of speech to get us to be on the lookout for developments throught the season.

Well just ruin my fun then...lol

I ride the coaster in my white tee...

Anybody have any other explanations for the clues...seeing as to we don't really have too much new content to really focus on except more crazy ideas!!!

This area of footers really interests me, they seem a lot closer together that any of the other footer sections, and it also seems to look like an akward shaped turn, I guess we will just have to wait and see

Lol...i just thought of another idea for 2+2...sorry ramboozle but i got the mind juices flowin tonite...X has 2 seats on each side of the track. put 2 seat and 2 seats together you get a train similar to 4d!!! How sick would that be??

Bingo! Or should I say "caliente!" Pero no exactamente un quatro D.
But why do I keep talking in spanish? (answer that obvious clue and you have solved the supposed mystery of this coaster . . . )

Ok, ok, I've finally figured it all out. 2 and 2 together means 2000 feet x 2. It's gonna be 4000 feet tall!!!! And once again, Intamin has come up with a new prototype lift hill. No chain, no cable lift. Instead they're gonna use giant helium balloons to pull the trains up the hill. The riders in the front seat will each be given a pair of scissors to cut the strings on the balloons once they reach the top. The train will then plummet 3950 feet straight down reaching speeds of up to 560 miles per hour. The track will then flatten out and go through a 1000 feet straight stretch giving riders a couple seconds to put their eyeballs back in the sockets due to negative g's. After 27 inversions, the train will head into a tunnel and travel underneath Sandusky bay, coming out in the middle of the marina at Battery Park. On the return trip, riders will have to hold their breath for approx. 45 seconds as the train travels under water and back to the peninsula. Thank you and enjoy your record breaking ride on Maverick.

PS. This post is no more ridiculous than some of the crap I've been reading on here lately.

If that interets you wait till you see the pictures of the new footers on the inside of those footers. They are twice as big and only have one support on top of them... Makes me wonder even more what they are doing because that is 3 supports on each piece of track....

As seen here in a crappy rendering:
http://putfile.com/pic.php?pic=6/15301471796.jpg&s=f5

Also, they have torn into the concrete that formed the pond in order to dig a huge trench.... *** Edited 6/3/2006 5:48:58 AM UTC by Aaron_toledo***

So you're saying that you were there and saw more footers poured along that red line in your drawing?

Yes and not just 1 or 2 but as many as there are there in the picture, only on the line that I drew... There is a whole new ditch they are putting the footers in parallel to the ones we already see. *** Edited 6/3/2006 6:00:25 AM UTC by Aaron_toledo***

As good as Walt is about getting pics and updates up quickly, I would think that sometime this weekend, maybe we'll see what you're talking about.

I sent him some pictures and I am sure he took a ton himself so hopefully everyone will have an update soon.... He really is doing a great job on keeping up with the construction....

I was sure that area would be a turn, but now I think it might be a helix... I'll have to see some new pictures and draw up some more ideas.

Well first I hate to say it but when the announcement comes you may have to change this to Project 2008. This would not surprise anyone, because the problems they have had with MF, TTD, Maxair and at first skyhawk too, I think they will be doing more testing than ever before. Their early start intruiges me though.

It was stated somewhere on the site earlier that Maverick will be 70mph+ coaster, intamin looper coaster followed by a 100mph launch into the worlds largest loop. This would possible, but to me I wonder if they may REALLY go somewhere new with this. However, they've tried things that were bigger and badder than anything before only to get problems and downtime.

I guarantee there will be no height/speed record or water coaster. Crazy train style like 4D? Maybe... Crazy Loop? Maybe... Over Water? Is it time? Remember Lake Erie doesn't change height much, has been decreasing and is shallow... I just hope they dont go pansy on a new style of coaster...

One more idea...Nothing about the coaster but, any possibility of a new midway? That might really change the look of the park, make the ride more exciting. Just a thought, and I always hated not being able to walk from MF to Mean Streak...

What do you mean "not being able to walk from MF to Mean Streak?" Take the Frontier Trail to Frontier Town and to Mean Streak.

I couldn't agree more. It's like the speculation gets more stupid and unrealisitic as the thread gets longer. However, it's still enjoyable to read and gives me a good laugh.

these things on this blog have gotten pretty stupid. I am just going to continue to watch pics from Walt and other people and try to make a guess.

It's been a while since I have read this thread, but I can remember a lot of people with pics of the staging area, but no count on the number of pieces, I was there yesterday and can confidently say there are 24 pieces of track in the stagin area. Sorry if this was already said, But I didn't have time to scan all 8 pages of this thread. :)

No problem, Britt. You actually started heading in the right direction with your last post about the "put 2 + 2 together" clue -- that does refer to the coaster train. But then you looked in wrong direction to X in California. Turn you gaze in the exact opposite direction. But where to look? Well, consider the language I used in my posts, and that will tell you exactly where to look. Remember, CP's coaster will not be the only of its kind in existence. To quote Yoda: "there is another . . . "

That does provide any clarification??
