Valravn Goes Vertical--Construction Starts

As I see what appears to be a perimeter wall being built, I am wondering what the concrete structure is just after the dive loop. This seems like a very "beefy" foundation for something and is clearly different than the footing for the perimeter wall that is being built. Could this be some sort of ride element or just a substantial wall to block out sound when the ride is at ground level and so near the midway?

I'd put my money on a fancier wall barrier. Seeing how close it is going to be to the traffic that will be in that area and considering that section of track is a low zone, I'm guessing they wanted something "more" than a plain fence.

Yeah, some combination of decorative and sound management, given the proximity to Luminosity VIP seating.

It looks like the train pieces are being queued up to be put in the storage shed

If you look closely, I think at least one car/train is already in the storage shed.

Here's what I saw earlier:

Color me surprised that they're putting trains on with the roof not fully up.

Anyone know where the statue is going? The one that used to be along the marina trail?

The way I understood what Tony had said was that it was put out to pasture.

It was by the pagoda gift shop last I saw

What does that mean?

It means to retire.

Google is your friend, Shawn. :)

You were right. The next day it was confirmed all 3 trains are now on Valravn's storage tracks.

Does anyone think they will add those protective screen things under the track when going over the different parts of the midways? I'm not sure what they're called but they're on other dive coasters. I remember someone asked about that on a Periscope months ago and Tony said "maybe"... It seems like a necessity for dive coasters? But it also seems kind of late to install them. I'm not sure

I recall hearing a no from them during the Winter Chill Out......but I could have misheard. The way I see it, they haven't done it yet so why start with Valravn? Also, as long as they enforce a strict no loss article policy, they shouldn't need them. But we'll find out sooner or later.

The safety netting likely differs per state. Ohio might require the unsightly front vehicle license plates, but I'll take that as a trade off for being able to walk under a coaster without a net.

LED exit signage appears to be operational on the new marina gate. Check out the web cam.

I've seen pictures of the new B&M hyper, Mako, being built at Sea World Orlando and it very clearly had the little netting support arms all over where they are going to put those nets in. I would be very surprised it they appear on Valravn since they aren't already sticking out all over the place.

Tony just posted about Valravn's trains, which are currently being attached together on the storage racks. Looking at the pictures of the trains, I find it interesting that most of the seats have yellow seat belts, but one or two on each train is red. Do you think that these are "big boy seats" or just part of the color scheme?

They are indeed "big boy" seats.
