Voodoo at dorney park

So Kyle, the brakes will engage if it stops shaking?

I'm confused.

Ride on, MrScott!

Voodoo will do very well. The logo is very cool. Pennsylvania seems to be the place to be in 2008 with Knoebel's, Dorney and Hersheypark getting new rides plus the long awaited Ravine Flyer opening at Waldameer.

I didn't know that WT swayed... Thats kind of nerve-wracking

Just about every ride has a little bit of a sway to it. If you ever do a lift walk, you can feel the structure move. I felt that on Corkscrew, Magnum, and Maverick. And if you think WT sways, TTD's tower sways like crazy as well. The best angle to see it is on the unload side of Magnum's platform.

It's Official, although it probably was official before. They now have information on DorneyPark.com about Voodoo.

So far the former Steel Venom, Thunderhawk, and don't forget X-Flight have been placed very well. Voodoo seems to fill a gap at DP as far as launch coasters go (plus Impulses never showed up on the east coast). X-Flight (Firehawk) has a nice location in Kings Island. It seems to be doing well so far. MiA fans have been craving for a new thrill ride for quite some time and Thunderhawk will do just that. I have to say that CF has made some good decisions thus far.

Also I might add, the holding brake will remain on Voodoo, formerly known as Steel Venom, formerly known as Superman Ultimate Escape.

One more thing I might add. The reason they probably changed the name to Voodoo from Steel Venom is the fact that there is already a coaster at Dorney Park named Steel Force and the 2 names could confuse people and they would get mixed up.

Ya, that makes sense... But at Cedar Point, there is a Blue Streak and a Mean Streak, and I don't think that people get those two mixed up.

Is the color scheme the same on Voodoo?

Hey sorry to bump the topic. When I was at Dorney on closing weekend, they had about 5 or so pieces of Steel Venom track sitting in a little field. But two of the pieces were painted yellow. So I would assume it is getting a new paint scheme.

^^Good, I heard they might go with red and yellow. I wish they release more details and construction progress EXT.

Red and yellow. How original. :)

I think purple and yellow would go with their logo a lot better. Not to mention it would save it from looking like another McDonald's coaster.

Topic getting bumped again, but Dorney released the theming of VooDoo. Pics show that the coaster will be yellow track with a purple and raspberry train with orange restraints. Here's the link to the photo gallery:
