What am I missing on Mantis?

Over the last few weeks I have noticed a number of you complain about how you are in pain after riding Mantis. I don't get it. I ride it 2 or 3 times every time I go to CP. Not once did I ever feel pain. Maybe you just need to relax more on the ride on go with the flow. How is it that your feet and legs hurt? Sounds like maybe you are crunching yourself too much. Just curious.

This post does not apply to those with a medical problem...in that case you should not ride it.
It might be from people 200+ lbs. because I have never felt pain or have been uncomfortable riding Mantis. It's always been a scream...like a banshee!

Mean Streak: Fast and Furious,
I have no clue why people say it hurts them. Ive been on it I think 5-6 times this year, and one of them was with the trims off during ERT for CoasterMania. That was intense, but it did'nt hurt. It was way way too coool!!!

I heard Kryptonite in the MF queue at coastermania like 3 of 4 times.

Mean Streak: Fast and Furious,
I weigh over well over 200 pounds and I've never had any trouble with the ride hurting my legs. I kind of like the feel of pressure that it puts on my legs. Yeah, I feel funny for a couple of minutes getting off, but it is not pain, it is just a funny feeling.

this is my favorite ride at cp, but i havent ridden the force yet. i never felt pain, headaches, or any headbanging. i guess the people who claim they feel pain while riding are the ones who say mean streak is too rough.........

The people having problems aren't following the riding instructions.

Have they fixed the riding instructions? What I learned the hard way was that if I stood with my legs straight up and down, I was fine. If I leaned against the seat back and had my feet out in front of me, my calves would hurt like **** when I got off. I have also learned that if I raise the seat far enough that the shoulder bar comes down far enough to fasten the safety belt, my thighs get crushed between the 'armrest' and the saddle, so that I can barely walk when I get off...AND my shoulders get crushed. Bottom line: unless they changed it this season, the safety belt is not long enough, and/or the saddle is too wide and/or the seats are too close together. Before they installed the safety belt, I was able to get a number of painless rides, but now the ride is simply too unaccommodating for me.

I'm kinda short, so I put the harness far enough down so it just barely touches my shoulders, and I can sit down of the lift. It helps with the roughness when I raise my arms, because then my shoulders hit the harness and take most of the shock.

I too have the harness just barely over my shoulders. Feet have to be as far back as possible and you must not lean in to the back of the seat. While riding, I actually put my feet as far back as possible and lean in to the harness, forward. I never have an uncomfortable ride.

I have a fairly tall torso, and my problem is that if I don't put the shoulders down as far as possible, I'm going to experience a bit MORE pain down below from the "seat" riding up high.
