What Don't/Won't You Ride?

Tank's avatar

For some psychological reasons, I can't bring myself to ride the Witches Wheel, probably because of the lack of restraints. I also really don't care for the Matterhorn, mostlly because the bars don't lock. Are there any rides you don't or won't ride? Why?

WW is just a spinning piece of Introduction to College Physics: some like it, others don't. It's simply a flat ride that spins, and there is no need for any restraints.

Raptor Crew 05' (Early season) + Corkscrew + Demon Drop
MaXair 06'

Hmm... Nothing I can think of that I won't ride.

The only things I can't ride Kiddy Land rides where I shouldn't be riding things.

When I go to the park I usually only ride the roller coaster and transportation rides (CP & LE, Skyride), plus Power Tower, Demon Drop, and now I will give maXair a try. It's not because I don't like the other rides, it's just because I usually only visit for the day so I want to get all of my favourite coasters in and then if I have time left over I will ride a flat ride or two. The only non-coaster rides I've been on are Power Tower, Demon Drop, Wave Swinger, and Ocean Motion.

For some reason, I have a hard time riding the Demon Drop and Power Tower space shot, but i refuse the turbo drop side of Power Tower. It's not that I'm afraid of heights, just something about that free-fall feeling doesn't agree with me.

Cedar Point rocks my socks.

Ocean Motion and Witches Wheel. I can ride Dragster and Raptor until I pass out put one ride on those and I'm done for a half-hour.

Magnum. It's too much of a headache.

Never ride in the back!

Yes, Magnum can be rough, but catch it on a day when it is riding smooth and, in my opinion, it is the second best coaster at the park. I usually stay away from Mantis because it gives me a headache, I haven't ridden it in a while so I will give it another try.

Magnum - It gives me a headache that ruins the rest of the day.

I won't ride corkscrew because of a tramatic expierence when I was a child...other than that I pretty much will ride everything...

jury's still out on maxair...

I ride every ride in the park(all the ones I'm allowed on i.e. kiddyland...) but I'd have to say the closest ride to not riding is Power Tower. Just how your harnesed in and nothing is in front of you with a couple hundred feet under you is scary to me. Besides that, I'm good.

So many of my friends have the same fear about Power Tower. I can't explain how awesome the feeling is on Turbo Drop. I mean, the freefalling towards the ground at 50mph may be intimidating, but trust me it's amazing. And plus, it's a great view of the park. I've done Turbo Drop several times but I've only done Power Shot once and it isn't nearly as good. Give them both a try, you won't be disappointed.

FYI Power Tower Turbo Drop is not a freefall. It is actually a shot down, faster than gravity. Demon Drop is a freefall. Power Tower is not.

Vince 982, you say you only ride coasters because you do not get to the point often. Well you are in my boat then, but just something to think about is TROIKA. We have a blast on this ride and you can walk on and off and right back on. This ride gives me that stomach feel, which is good, (like going down MF hIll) but over and over again. If you are not having fun on it try looking straight up or straight down for the entire ride and see if that is more of a thrill.

Since i am on this subject does anyone do anything out of the ordinary on any other rides? I know on MF i like to lean my body out of the car during the overbanks, but i have seen others do this also. Funny thing is when my wife does the same thing it scares me and i grab onto her arm so she will not fall out(just in case).

Anyway, what other out of the ordinary things do you do to make a ride more thrilling?

I hate riding Corkscrew because of the way the cars are set up and how hard it is for me to get in. Im 5 foot 11 and when I try to get in the cars its not fun. But I ride it every everyother time I go to the park.

Goodbye 2005 season!!!!

i wont ride anything that spins. no spin and pukes for me, no sir!!

just cant handle it and the headache i get will ruin the rest of my day. last time i rode one was a Scrambler about four years ago and i was DONE for the night.

will ride any coaster you put me in front of, but a flat ride? not even if you said "ride or die"!!

Same with me.

I wil not go on Turbo Drop of Power Tower

2005 Season- 5 visits
maXair- 4 Spins
Dragster- 36 and ONE ROLLBACK

Man if you have never been on Power Tower you need to this year. That ride rates above many coasters in the park on thrill factor.

101 on Magnum and counting...

MillenniumMan1287, I couldn't agree more about that freefall feeling. I don't like it either. I have yet to ride that side of the Power Tower. Somehow, I always get talked into riding Drop Zone at PKI and I hate it.

A ride I don't think I would ever get on, but not located at CP, is that new Insanity ride on Stratosphere. *** Edited 3/12/2005 3:38:21 PM UTC by Coasterfury***
