What is Magnum's original Color?

This has been asked in a recent thread and has gotten mixed answers. Did it used to be orange or red?
If I remember correctly red fades very quickly in the sun. Red could easily fade into orange in a couple of years. Altough I am no expert, I think it is a color somewhere in the middle. Ya know, something like red/orange or such. Paints can easily be mixed for rides. But, as I said I am not the one who knows the answer.
Orange for most people, red for the color blind. Iron Dragon was the newest ride before Magnum, and ID was painted red. Logically, orange would be next.
I swore that Magnum was ALWAYS orange, Dan care to chime in?

Looking at the old POV on my coaster DVD, it sure looks red to me.

DVD! Damnit Jeff! I want one! :( If only I had connections and was in the know. Great now I'm depressed. Maybe I will have to go back to the park now.
It was bright red.

It was always orange. Look at the track that is in the station were very little sun hits it. You can see near the bottom of the track in the station were the paint still looks fairly fresh. It's orange alright. The old POV may make it look red possibly because of the camera lenses.
Definitely DEFINITELY red. I rode it the first day it was open in 1989 and it was bright frickin red. Let me reiterate.....

Magnum XL 200 = RED

Might there be a way to find out for sure? eg. someone who has the ability to find out the actualy paint spec. for the original design. I remember it being orange (and much more beautiful than the faded color it has become now)

It was definitely orange when it opened in 1989. The paint was brighter back then, which made it look a little reddish, but it was orange.
Orange track.
Silver supports.
I found my pictures of it from 1989. But the real clincher isn't the actual ride- in 1989, the floral display under the skyride, right in front of the Pizza Patio, had three "peaks" of Magnum track poking out of the flowers. They were about 3 to 5 feet tall, and orange.

They call me cowboy- I'm the rider in black...
It had to be red..orange and silver do not mix.

Is it settled at orange now?

If they ever do repaint it, (we can all testify that it needs it) they will probably paint it the orange it is right now because that is what everyone is use to seeing dressed up in.
Exactly what MagnumFan said. Orange and Silver do not mix. Now it is Orange and Gray.

New paint is needed! How about dark deep red with shinny silver supports, like it orgionally was!!!

It doesn't need it as bad as Mantis.
