Where's the best place?

Which part of Cedar Point (Midway, town,or trail) is your favorite and why? My favorite would have to be the Gemini Midway just because of the rides and all the people.

Tough question. The worst place is outside of Mean Streak - it's dead there. The best....I think I would have to say Gemini Midway, because you can watch the Froghopper.

Never ask anyone where they're from. If they're from Texas, they'll tell you; if not, they'll just be embarrassed.

Gig 'em Aggies!

I would say the Oceana Midway (around WT). I just like that little plaza, and its so nice and open :)
I love the Corkscrew and Power Tower area (what is it really called?), because the Corkscrew is sooooo cool right over the midway! I also like how Power Tower is right there, entising you to ride it, and then also b/c of the water and the Iron Dragon flying through there. It's just an awesome setup!!!

Well yeah, the TTD part is awesome, but I thought it would be it's own little midway area. I just like that little front area by Coasters and under the corkscrew. You know?...

My favorite is the Frontier Trail. Tree covered, cool, and a great place to chill out and relax.

i kinda like it by the mean streak. it's very peaceful. but i can definitely see how it wouldn't be everyone's cup of tea!

i'm the product of a summer romance: my parents met at cp in '75!

Frontier Trail is the place. Sit down and just watch MF while relaxing with your friends is the best place to cool down.
When walking between the front and back of the park, I sometimes like to go along the boardwalk between the Resorts gate and Beach gate. The benches along the boardwalk are great places to hang out a while, though it is a bit low on shade.

Another place I've been meaning to try as a getaway/hangout is the "back side" of the swim-up bar in soak city. There's a little patio over there, with chairs shaded by trees, and a counter that opens up into the bar. However, it's outside the park, so anyone can wander by for a beverage and a sit a spell. We walked by it numerous times last year when we stayed at Sandcastle, but I always had excited or tired kids with me so never took advantage.

It's not war, famine, or pestilence; it's only downtime.

It matters the Gemini Midway is awesome if Dragster is testing/running, but if Dragster is down then it would be the Frontier Trail. It's very relaxing there because of the shade.

Brian, I am sure that you will be dissapointed to hear this (I certainly was), but they fenced off the "back-side" of the swim up bar and it is now ONLY accesible from inside of Soak City itself. If you are a hotel guest at the Breakers, the only place to get a mixed-drink is TGIF. It makes me wish they would convert that Ice Cream parlor back into the "Surfside Lounge".

Another good reason to enjoy my combo pass, then!

Believe me not riding the TTD was not as big of a dissapointment as the fencing off of the dry side of the swim up bar. I really thought I was the only one who even knew about it. With the demise of the Surf Lounge only the trendy TGIF remains for hotel guest who need a stiff drink. Beer and Mike's are available at the Ice Cream Parlor as a homage to the Surf Lounge I guess. TGIF is always packed, the Surf Lounge was always empty. I guess some people can't drink without a lot of crazy crap on the wall. Me, I miss the dark and dank of the Surf.
Surf Lounge?...Always EMPTY?...I guess you never had the "pleasure" of stopping in after park hours and listening to the melodic tones of the FINE entertainment.

I do agree CP NEEDS an "after hours" adults ONLY spot. Pete care to sing on here?

Well the Surf Lounge was always empty when they kicked me out 'cause they wanted to close!

"She'll take away your pain, like a bullet through the brain"

Ok, I'll shut up, but CP does NEED some type of night club for adults only.

Old Timer Tim must live up to his name because I don't remember live music in the Surf Lounge since about '87. I guess it was never really empty, but you could always get a seat and the patio was nice. The patio was actually nicer before they put in the pool. The whole Breakers drinking experience has steadily gone down hill as they have added rooms without really adding services, Fridays is ok I guess but it draws a lot of non hotel people. I was excited to see listed a new place for pizza and drinks, Mama Chettas, but then found out it was only the back of the coffee shop (the former ice cream shop before B&C). About 10 or so they close the wall between the front of the coffee shop and the back and you now have Mama Chettas. It was worth a few laughs I'll admit.

Has anyone here ever been to the indoor/outdoor bar at a Bahama Breeze restaurant? That would be a perfect fit right on the beach at CP, maybe right at the end of Breakers by Soak City. It's a tropical themed bar with some tables and a stage. They also offer food in the bar. Usually the entertainment is one or two people playing island/Buffett type music. The walls open up to allow the breeze to come in. There could also be an outdoor deck facing the water. A facility like that would be an absolute perfect fit for the CP resort area.

I think Breakers is now the second largest hotel in Ohio, plus all the other accommodations, they really need something like this. I bet it would draw locals from Sandusky if you make it fun and not soak you with the drink prices.

What could be a better way to cap of your day at CP than some entertainment and drinks at a fun drinkery right on the beach? It would add memories and add to the desire people have to come back.

My favorite place is at gemini midway by top thrill dragster. it is neat to just sit on the bleachers and look at the cars fly by with the speedometer showing their speed. I also think it was a good call by them to have roaring of the engine and stuff at the beginning. It makes it interesting to watch.

I like your saying pete!

My favorite spot is actually Frontier Town because there is no one there. It is a great place to grab an elephant ear, beverage, and check out The Heart of Rock n Roll.
