White water landing?

Does anyone know why they removed the caves on this ride? I mean it wasnt a huge element in the ride but it added some differnt scenery. No with it gone it just seems to simple. Anyone have any info on this? Maybe a total make over of the ride soon?
WWL had caves? SWEET!

"Twisted Sister" is the name of the new rollercoaster at Cedar Point for 2003. Just watch!

I think i heard the wood was getting rotten on the caves or something but im not completey sure..

All Hands On Deck ;)

I believe a portion of it was damaged, and it was no longer structurally sound, so it was removed.

It's still a fun ride how it is.

I remember that, it had a waterfall that shut off just before your boat ran under it.
A couple years ago (2001) part of the caves fell in so that would be my guess as to why they took it down.

No, it had a waterfall that kept going as your boat ran under it. That @#$! waterfall got you more wet than the Hydro-Jump did.

I remember in 2001 the mountain was in bad shape, part of it having collapsed, and much of it being so brittle you could see light through it from the inside. I wasn't surprised when it was gone this year. I was surprised at how nice it looked; they did a very good job of removing the mountain in such a way that if you didn't know it used to be there, you'd never know it was ever there! :)

Here is the original thread that explained the whole thing on opening day:

RideMan is right about the waterfall getting you more wet than the splash at the end...That is why the waterfall was added in the first place...People were waitng for WWL and then NOT getting wet at all, well CP fixed that by adding the waterfall as you entered the "cave". It was fun to stand by the turn and distract the people as they rode past so they didn't see the waterfall...Ah cheap seasonal thrills....
