Why didn't CP make MF longer

Why didn't they have MF turn right after you return from the island and then go under the second hill/turn, turnaround and head back towards the station. By doing this they could have made it longer and could have added air time. Do you think MF should be longer or could be longer ?

Coulda shoulda woulda i wish they woulda ;)

I havent ridden it yet but i do think they should have made it longer it would of definately helped with the timing of the trains. Maybe they should have went a little higher also. just like the magnum ( first to break 200ft at 205ft, as if you already didnt know ;) ) they just went high enough to break the 300ft barrier and the 300ft drop. Shatter it already :) now someone else beat it by a few feet. Im not complaining just my opinion
Granted the ride time is pretty short, but the track length is plenty long.

Its high and long enough for me.

But do you think it would improve the ride if they turned right instead of left after you come back from the island?
Millenium Force is AWESOME!!! You never slow down! Well except for at the end. A truly amazing ride.
Why are you being such a hater? Obviously from what I am hearing this roller coaster is better than Magnum. So why are you trying to say its not good. Its like if its not broken don't fix it. They didn't make it longer because that would have made the price tag go up. Why did you give money to Cedar Point to make it longer. Now look at Magnum, most of the 2 minutes you are on the ride, you are going up the first hill. The rest of the ride takes one minute. Do you know how long the extra track would be if it had to fill up one minute? Come on

Magnum2G3, they are not saying that MF is "not good", they are just trying to see if people would think that it would be better if it was longer. You are right, if they wanted to really extend MF notibly, they would have to add TONS of track, and the price tag would definitely go up. In addition, they would have to scramble for space. I dont know that much about the physics standpoint myself, but extending the track after the island may also reduce the speed or something. As to whether more track would make the ride better, it all would depend on how the handled it. And as for the height issue, CP was going into uncharted territory by breaking the 300 ft barrier, I'd say that the combination of that fact with the fact that it seems like most people's favorite part was the first drop, it is perfect as it is right now (JW, when you go on it for the first time you'll see what I mean).

CP is lacking room for rides.

Why didn't they just have MF turn left after the first drop, have 27 camel backs to Sandusky, loop right, then bat-wing across the bay to Marble Head, have another 300 ft. cable lift and drop onto Kelleys Island, turn 122 degrees right (Non inverted turn, of course), 36 more bunny hops back to the brake station?

A: Because that's not how they planned it.
How long would that ride be????? :)
I think that would get boring after a while. Anyways, there are three reasons I can think of as to why CP would never have done that. (1)That design would require 2000 extra feet of track. (2)You'd need LIM's in order to make it through the last turn. (3)If CP thinks the way I do, they'd be planning a coaster that goes over Thunder Canyon and has a turnaround inside MF's first turn.
Ok i dident read any replies so if anyone said this sorry but maybe they dident make it longer because they dident have enough money.

LET ME OFF HERE!!!!!;)
They have PLENTY of money. They didn't make it longer because, well, that just isn't how it was designed. They, for whatever reason, decided that that was a good length to make the coaster in best interest of themselves and the future of the park (Although we all know CP does not have a space problem, it wouldn't be very smart to make a coaster that stretched all around the park taking up room for the next big thing...)
MF's plenty long. Any longer and it would not be as good. It's good because you're hittin high speeds through that entire minute. It's fast from start to end and that's what makes it great. If it were longer you'd end up crawling into the station, and that's no good. :)

RE JW:
Have you seen MF in person? There is absolutely NO MORE ROOM past the first turn. The first turn is literally, right next to Thunder Canyon. Taking the lift up higher wouldn't work with the same layout. Besides, no matter how high CP would've gone, the next one would've upped them anyway. It's just how the industry works. If MF would've been 330 ft, the next one would be 340 or whatever.

If they turned left, they would have room for the next coaster they are puting on the island. Oh dear I've said to much!

This isn't a rumor, it's just common sense. Look at the construction pics on the official site of the island. There is quite a bit of room over there. It might not be the very next one, but we WILL see one there.
CP and Intamin originally thought that MF would be 2:45 seconds, which in todays Roller Coaster world, is pretty long. Since MF is the third longest (I think, correct me if I'm wrong) Steel Coaster in the world, it is long enough. It's just that the pure speed of the coaster made the ride lose 45 seconds. (I'll never figure out how they could overerstimate 45 seconds)

Maybe they factored the coaster time with a 5 mph lift and not a 35 mph lift.

Perhaps... but something like that wouldn't be over-looked that easily. I also agree Cp_genius w/ the island. It looks rather barren to the left of MF!

I always thought they should of added a helix in there somewhere just to get the track length record...
