Why Dont Cedar Point seem to like LIM launch?
I am really curious to see if anyone knows, or is it just rumor that CP doesnt seem to want a LIM launch? Is it that its to "Gimmicky" for them, or is there another reason why? Or have they considered one at all?? Any TRUE answers would be appricated!

I think compressed air is the way to go. It can do the same stuff, and S&S does it with style.

I would have to agree with CP_genius. They have experience with S&S. On the contrary though, now they have experience with Intamin too, they make some LIM's if I'm not mistaken. They might just go for it sometime. I would much rather have CP get a Thrust Air, but I would gladly take a LIM launched.

When I saw this topic, I thought the same thing as CP_genius, compressed air can do the same stuff if not a lot more, a lot quicker with more efficiency anyway. A new S&S would be the ticket.
What kind of launch system is on the Hulk at IOA. Something like that would be cool.

Another reason for the Thrust Air, is that it doesn't need a huge long straight-away to get up to speed. It's just like a space shot on a track, only faster.
Hulk uses pinch wheels similar to those found on Woodstock Express. Because the system has to store electricity for launch (the only way to get enough "juice" to make it happen), the power is converted to mechanical energy first. I seem to recall reading somewhere that it doubled the cost of the ride.
Why DOESN'T CP seem to like the LIM rides? I'm sure it has more to do with maintenance costs and down time more than anything. These rides are notorious for that. Of course, that's not to say that they couldn't do it better.
