Why is Dragster Closed?

Could just be waiting for a part to arrive too. Then everything else they're doing could be just touch ups while it's sitting for a long time.

Just another speculation theory that could be wrong

Yea, guess they are either A, still working on it, or B, waiting on a part that could come in tonight and then they will fix it.

The ride was having constant breakdowns when I visited last Thursday. Not sure if that was a sign of what was to come...

Thrills Around the Corner!

It'd be awesome if tonight's ERT were still on but I'd rather be safe than sorry. We're in capable hands with CP's maintenance department. They'll surely have it open as safely possible.

The Dragster crew did something incredibly nice for a station full of people at/just after park closing May 27th. Probably 3 trains worth of people left, and something made a grinding noise. Closed down, but they called the Millennium Force crew and sent us there for a last ride of the night sort of thing. Was a nice gesture.

I hope whatever is wrong gets fixed soon.

I was there this night and was riding Millennium Force at closing. They left the gate open and kept letting us get back in line until about 28 minutes after closing. Now it makes more sense as to why they would let us go so long.

For thosewondering, As of 11 am today Dragster's still closed.

Looks like there is a forklift and maintenance crew by the equipment room. Hopefully that is a good sign.

One of the new live cameras currently has a great view of the Dragster infield. These new cameras will allow anyone to track when rides are operating or not operating in real time...which is kinda crazy.

It was announced at the CoasterMania lunch today that Dragster won't be running in time for ERT tonight. Millennium Force is being substituted.

According to Tony's tweet, Dragster's ERT will be replaced by Millennium Force.

Weather Freak

Dragster blew a gasket. Hydraulic pump exploded and over 200 proxies fried. Lesson learned: Don't try launch boosting a train in 45 mph winds.

Wait wait, were they proximity sensors or proxy servers? I'm totally confused!

I understand the park was closed yesterday and today, but is there any news on TTD? I heard it was running yesterday before the water main break, but I don't know if that is true

TTD 120mph's avatar

That's false. They never ran it on Saturday.

I think I can see them testing Dragster on the live cams, it only looks like there are 5 cars on the storage tracks.

The live cams are on Millennium and the Marina... :-/

It does somewhat look like a train has been transferred on over at the Dragster cam though. :)

Alright, enough about the water problem this weekend, let's get back to some REAL issues at the point... anyone know what is going on with TTD? Has anyone heard? Just curious. Hopefully it isn't anything too serious, it would be nice to finally ride TTD this year!! I heard someone say at Coastermania this weekend it was something wrong with the catchcar then I also heard it was a hydraulic motor issue. Hopefully it isn't the ladder of the two because that could be a major and long fix!!

I heard Intamin ladders were quite expensive and prone to downtime, so it probably will take some time. Wouldn't believe what happens when one walks under it.

I'm looking at the still Dragster cam, and there is a small line outside of the entrance with zero trains on the storage track now. I'm really hoping the issue is fixed soon.
