Wicked Twister offline indefinetely?

The question is why is it down? If it had something to do with the ride that is one thing (Although CP waiting 5 days to put that up on its website is a flaw). If it has something to do with a train that would be ridiculous--train technology has been around for almost as long as STR boats. CP should be able to get them up and running in less than 5 days.

Obviously something has happened or delayed them in getting this ride operational clearly. Sucks it's down I'm right there with you. However, it's down, all we can do is hope for a speedy process to get it open. You know they aren't sitting there twiddling their thumbs at the issue.

Nothing better than people who know nothing about specific circumstances of a situation stating exactly how long a resolution to said situation should take...

A train is fairly simple technology: wheels, axles, etc. Fairly simple swap out, swap in stuff.

Now an impulse launch system, that's something else.

Who knows if maybe something on the train needed overhauled? Or perhaps maybe it's part of the track that needed overhauled and that's why the train isn't completely put on yet? Noone other than CP knows why it's down. To think it's a train issue is only at best speculation.

And while it is true that trains are simple technology that doesn't mean they have enough axles siting on a bench in the shop to change everyone of them on the train. Even if they did have enough axles to replace them all what happens if it was found that the axles have a manufacturing defect in them? What happens if everyone of the axles was replaced during the offseason and everything was fine until testing started?

I have no idea, not even a hint of what is going on here - I am simply trying to point out that when it comes to mechanical equipment things can and do go wrong. This happens despite the best planning and efforts to prevent it.

I am not trying to say that CP did a perfect job, but I do think that they did the best job they possibly could to have these rides and trains ready on opening day. Unfortunately it appears that things happened which were beyond what they could control causing these delays. Based upon the fact that no one here knows the exact situation causing WT to remain closed it is unreasonable for anyone here to say exactly how long it "should" take to get it back up and running.

They could double the capacity if another train was added. ;)

Funny, and here I thought it was Windseeker's job to be regularly unavailable on that midway.

Has anyone noticed any progress around the ride other than the trains being re-assembled? This screams of "waiting on a part" to me but obviously it's hard to do anything but speculate.

Maybe the ride is done and ready but at this point they are waiting for the State of Ohio to come back and inspect it. Granted it shouldn't take the state that long to come back but if they are already busy with the summer carnival season it could take a few days.

They are working on it right now, moving the train back and forth from tower to tower but it is not actually climbing them yet.

Good to hear !!!! Rock On Cedar Po!nt!

And here I was wanting to start a rumor that it was closed so they could add a new piece of track connecting the two spikes, like an RCT2 impulse coaster. :D
