155 days till Halloweekends!

That's great that Undertaker U is getting an update.... with the improvements to the other haunts over the last couple of years, it was starting to show it's age.

I will be returning to my beloved Fear Faire I really enjoyed working in there and look forward to having veterans in it aside from 90% Newbs (Me last year!)

Glad to hear you'll be coming back, we need as many veterans as possible. More than likely I'll be returning for my 3rd year in FF, although there is another location that is very tempting.

^ What location would that be? Fright Zone perhaps? :)

no, I think the only way I'd go to Fright Zone would be if I were a slider. I'm considering the house in the Frontier Carousel building. My persona would fit very well in there.

Can't come fast enough!

I was there a week or so ago chaperoning a school trip... it seemed there were more a lot more promotional items (banners, signs, etc) fthroughout the park for Halloweekends than I remember ever seeing other times that I had been there this early in the season.

I concur - can't come soon enough!

And for those of you that are new or are interested in becoming a Screamster..please ask any questions you have so that we can answer them. We are looking forward to another great year and would love to see new people. So any questions you have about the job if you are interested please don't be scared to ask them.

I know I'm repeating myself but if anyone or if you know anyone that is interested in becoming a Screamster, let us know. It is a great job and an amazing experience. We are looking for a lot of new people this year and would love for you guys to join us this year. It's something that you will never forget doing. Please let anyone of us know if you are interested so we can direct you in the right direction for how to become a Screamster. We're looking to make this Halloweekends the best it has ever been.

Zeek is right this is truely a great job. But we are looking for people that are in this more than the pay. We are looking for people that will have the passion and will make this the best and scariest halloweekends experiece that the guests will ever have

"Chuckie"- Happy Jack Toy Factory Screamster 2009. 2010-11 Kilroy the Clown Carnevil Screamster
2012 Blood on the bayou.

It's that time again - as of today, applications for Screamsters 2010 are open!

Screamsters are the paid actors who are put in a mask an costume and scare guests in the outdoor zones or haunted houses at Cedar Point's Halloweekends. Go to Cedarpoint.com, click on "Jobs" at the top right of the screen and scroll down the page until you see "APPLY NOW".

We need A LOT more people this year with the demise of the Scream Teams (i.e.,the frat and sorority volunteer groups in haunted houses). We are looking to hire at least 350 people and more if we can get them. This isn't a job for everyone. It is physical and demanding but an easy way to make extra money and make some great friends and stories. If you have friends, relatives, co-workers, etc. that you think would make good additions to our family, encourage them to apply. The season runs from September to the beginning of November on Fridays and Saturdays, and Sundays in Oct. Options for more hours include working in the haunted houses or working the monster midway parade. There will be carpools available if you can't drive or don't want to every week and there is free housing provided at the park if you choose to use it.

For new recruits that the job code for Screamsters is 613. I believe if you want to work as a fog tech the code is 400

Spread the word, invite friends and family, and if you have any questions at all just let me know as I'd be glad to answer. Looking forward to a great season and welcoming some new members to the family.

There are a bunch of us on here who can answer questions for anyone who might be interested in being a Screamster. Post them here or send myself or Zeek a PM.

same here, glad to answer questions, and can answer pretty much anything. Easy way to pick up some extra cash in the fall, and with carpools and housing available on point it is pretty convenient, not to mention a great time and a great group of people and a unique experience.

How does being a screamster work? I live about 2 hours away from the park, and would be interested in doing it. Would I have to drive up to CP each weekend or would I be put up for a weekend? Any info you can send would be appreciated. Thanks

There is free housing available at the park, so once you're there you can stay for the weekend. Whatever time you don't spend working you're free to ride rides and enjoy the park. There's also a carpool list of other Screamsters who may live around you, so you can work out car pools if you don't want to drive every weekend. The schedule is flexible, so if you know you're going to need a couple of days off it shouldn't be a big deal.

There's basically two types of positions. The indoor houses which offer the most hours because they're open Friday-Sunday and open earlier in the day, and the Outdoor scare zones which are open Friday and Saturday nights and the last 4 Sundays in October. You'll be able to state your preference during the phone interview, although the outdoor zones usually fill up first. The outdoor zones are very physical and require you to be able to run, jump, crouch, etc. for 4 hours in a dark and foggy environment. The indoor houses have some physical positions too, but they also have positions where you may be able to sit or stay in one place if you're not able to do all the jumping and running around.

Any more questions feel free to ask.

And if you're leaning toward an outdoor zone....CarnEvil is where it's at this year.

Would I be expected to work every weekend, because in order to be able to do this I would have to take off work on the weekends. Also, when should I apply, or how do I apply? Also what is the average wages paid per hour? I would love to do this, but I can't take a hit financially, and I need to be able to get those weekends off for work.

You will not be expected to work every weekend, but the majority of the weekends. You can apply now if you wish, all you need to do is go to cedarpoint.com, click on the jobs tab, scroll down the page and click on the 'APPLY NOW' yellow button. That will take you to the application and everything you need to do. When selecting the position, the code for Screamsters is 613. Screamsters get paid $8.00 an hour.
