2002 Improvements (Besides The New Ride)

if capacity isn't an issue, then it most likely get any attention.  sad but true.  if hardly any wait is present to go on it, the park people would most likely contribute maintainence to something that draws more of a crowd

The trims will not be leaving Mantis or Mean Streak, so don't hold your breath.  Last time I was there, Space Spiral was operating normally, sans air conditioning. 
Iron Dragon's lift...  I've heard so many people talk about this, complain that it 'always feels like it's going to break down when you get to the top of the lift' and random nonsense like that.  I wish I could sit down and explain the incredibly difficult dynamics of a dual lift.  The first lift is that slow on purpose.   A computer controls the speed of the first lift, slowing it down (sometimes, down to a near crawl) until the train currently on the circuit ahead of it has cleared the second lift.  Next time you're on ID, take a look down to your right at the second lift, once that train clears the lift, you'll speed up.

...But not if you're there this season; I'm pretty sure Iron Dragon is down to two-train ops for the season now...... :)

Well I live 3000 miles away and I don't think I'll be gong back for a while.

I am almost certain that DT, Space Spiral, Giant Wheel, Kiddie Kingdom, and the food courts in that midway will have more traffic.

There was the same effect with Mantis these past 2 years because of the construction of MF.

With a new extreme coaster in that area, there will be people willing to ride it, and others not so willing...or not tall enough. This will cause a rise in attendence to the not-so-extreme rides in that area...Especially the non-riders that don't just want to sit there and do nothing. So if they want more satisfied guests, they should spruce up several rides in that area...there may have been some of this going on to Ocean Motion a few months ago...

This seems like the appropriate thread to add this too.

There will be increased traffic in the Wicked Twister area.  They really need to put some money into that area.  DT needs an outside paint job bad.   You can see the orignal Avalanche Run paint coming through on some of the supports.  Plus all the things DT needs to make it cool again. 

Some of the general buildings in that area need painting bad.  I hope they do it. 

When they put in MF they cleaned up the whole area.  It all looked great.  I really hope they do the same.

Get with it or die in the process.....

Paint jobs would be good for some of the rides and buildings. The DT needs better theming!!! The Oceana Midway needs some nice scenery with its new addition. They need some new ride like the San Fran. Earthquake. But this time around, make it up to the standards of the rides you see in Universal Studios. Those special effects and explosions would do well in the park (if something similar dosen't go in in the near future, put special effects like that in DT. And finally, clean up the Mantis' queue area. BIG TIME!!!!

I just hope they do something to get rid of that God awful smell that comes from the Mantis Lagoon.

The only thing I think the Space Spiral needs (besides A/C) is for the glass in it to be buffed out or done something to so you don't see a bazillion tiny little scratches.  It doesn't have to be crystal-clear, just worked on a little. 

C'mon! The lagoons and their smell it just one of the things un-replicated and unique...they are part of the whole experience of Cedar Point.

Bigger T-shirts.  The three shirts I got last year are all XL, and their sizes run small.  Get some XXL, or make the existing sizes bigger.

I hope Mantis will be fixed up.  Not only a paint-job, but a queue facelift.  Everything seems broken and all spider weby and dirty in Mantis's line.  The umm "water" doesn't help either.  Maybe that exit station will be built.

Kerry, who thinks Boardwalk Fries are the next best thing besides coasters at Cedar Point.

CP_Bound I guess one could give the same arguement about a trip to a poorly maintained Six Flags park.  The garbage gives it charachter.  Personally, I don't agree with the arguement, but hypothetically it could be made.

For any people surfing in and haven't made it to the point yet remember to try buy food that has a really nice smell to it while your in line to try and block out the nasty water like substance around the queue.

As nice as that would be, I don't think we'll see an exit station for Mantis, at least not this year. They definitely do need to fix up the queues. That whole area needs more color to it, which we'll hopefully get if the Mantis is indeed painted this winter.
