2016? Who Cares! It's All About 2017 to 2030!

I agree with Pete on both points. They can soak just about $5 out of each of my kids pet visit at the arcade, and it is not a ghost town by any means.
Also, I thought the same thing about the abundance of columns the first time I heard the idea of turning the arcade into a dark ride. With the exception of an arcade or massive gift shop, is there any other practical use for such a building?

Not to mention it's a rare, historic building and should be left alone.

I believe that it would be foolish for the park to not add either a world's longest B&M flyer like Tatsu, or more likely a 250 ft+ tall S&S 4D coaster like X2 either for or before their 2020 addition.

These kinds of coasters would fit best in the opening left by Shoot the Rapids, as these types of coasters don't need a huge out and back layout, and both X2 and Tatsu rely on their terrain layouts indicating that the STR terrain is ideal for longer drops and interaction with the nearby trees and water.

That's an AWESOME idea. I did some research and when S&S Worldwide took over arrow dynamics, they now have the rights to build the 4D coasters like X2. It is unfortunate they haven't built any since they got the legal rights to the design of the coaster!

I totally agree with Wisco Woody about the STR area. Yes Cedar Point needs a log flume/water ride, but the STR are would be PERFECT for a B&M Flying Coaster that interacts with the terrain (trees, water, MF supports). It would be a huge hit. Cedar Point can market it as a journey flying through the secret forests of cedar point/Frontiertown. I can see that doing really well, especially with the GP.

As for the 4D coaster like X2, it would be a huge addition, but wouldn't quite fit in the precious forested STR area. If you look at the layout of X2, it is fairly compact, and would do better in an open and smaller area, not in a valuable spot with so much potential the STR area has.

I think the STR are has tons of potential, especially for a flying coaster. Imagine all of the near miss elements flying through the forest, and among the treetops.

For all of you who are saying hey CP FLYIN, look at this GCI coaster idea (posting the link to that no limits GCI coaster that OpticalKiwi posted on YouTube) and that it would be great, but here is what I am gonna say:
Here is the difference between the two. One is steel, and would fly through the treetops magically like it belongs at Disney and is themed to Pete's Dragon or Jungle Book (without the themeing) and would be a hit with the GP. The other one is a GCI woodie and would also be a great decision, and could be marketed as a rabid bear running through the woods or something along those lines. The biggest reason I would always take the flyer over the GCI is that, to put it simply, the GP want fun, awesome coasters. Flying through the treetops is going to appeal more than a (in my honest opinion) a only meh GCI. Yes, the park may need a woodie, but the GP just want a great ride, and to be fair, GCI woodies aren't that great. They aren't fast and insane like Top Thrill Dragster, they don't give the unique experience Gatekeeper gives, they don't give intensity like Maverick, and they don't pack airtime like Magnum and MF. They are fun rides, but aren't great.

That is why I think a B&M flyer is a way better use of the STR space.

And where is this forest? A quick scan of the STR site reveals not a lot of trees. Really, hardly any. And if you don't think they'd mow down whatever trees are there to build a B&M flyer, you're mistaken.

You really need to ease off on the coaster studios-esque speculation there, flyin.

This is why I say the better option would be a 250 ft tall S&S 4D, as it would be more popular than any other mid-size twister coaster with both us seasoned riders and the GP, and yes that includes being more popular than a flying coaster.

S&S have built a few more since X2, most notably Eejanaika in 2006, which translates to 'What the Hell?!", which is the only way to describe a 250 ft tall 4D vertical dive coaster.

Lol Rob, were you referring to my general idea or CP Flying's overly specific post?

Frontiertown, right near the STR area is covered in trees!!

My point is, it would be awesome flying around treetops/canopies!! Ever wondered why those treetop zip lines make so much money?
^well, you probably haven't, that was a rhetorical question...

Anyway, you get a super cool experience zipping through treetops feeling like you are flying. Very easy to market meaning money for CP (and a great coaster)

Both 4-D and flying coasters are awful. Your ideas are awful.

No, I am saying that zip lines make lots of money while riders fly through tree canopies. Cedar Point doesn't have the right topography for any good zip line, but a flying coaster would give the same feel, and make lots of $$$ for CP

Rollercoaster=heavy macienary

Heavy macienary=no trees

If they put a flying Coaster over trees, they would have to cut down all of them, replant them, and hope they grow in five or so years.

Flying coasters are fun, but I found x2 to be grossly overhyped.

Cedar Point really doesn't need yet another B&M, in my opinion. But I'm not sure if Cedar Fair management shares that opinion.
