4th of July Fireworks

I'll be heading to CP for the first time this season over the 4th of July weekend. Anyone know if the fireworks display will be in the same place as last year? Best viewed behind WT?

The beach and the boardwalk are good places to go, but you'll have lots of company. In the past, we've also watched them from the main parking lot. Before 2000, watching from the former Giant Wheel plaza wasn't too bad either.

Lets hope this years fireworks are better then last at CP. The show seemed a bit short last year. And I really would have like to chime in on the Raptor falling apart thead, boy there are all kinds of cracks other then the first drop. That Cobra Roll, sheesh, as your heading out of it on the left side row 6 you can really notice it. Boy. Then there's the problem with the loop, and can we not forget the final helix and the problems it has been plagued with since day one. Raze it!!!

I'm also planning to go the 4th. How crowded is CP on the 4th? Is it worth going to see? *** Edited 6/18/2004 7:11:48 PM UTC by TTD 120mph***

Seeing how the parks hours are the longest on that day I'd expect to have a very large crowd. If I remember correctly their 1400+ hotel rooms sold out that night. If you don't mind waiting it's a nice time to go.

I went last year, and as a season pass holder, I will NEVER go on the 4th again! 45 minute for the MONSTER???? No Way.

Let's go straight to the Merry-Go-Round!

I'll go on the 4th for the fireworks, but I certainly don't plan on riding anything that day. Last time I was there on the 4th (2002) the park died after the fireworks, and I had walk on rides on Magnum, Power Tower, and Raptor from 11-midnight.

And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun

Cracks on Raptor?

Uhhh.... almost all rooms in the area are sold out almost all summer long.

I know there's some other hotels which Cedar Point has no ties within that area, like Motel 6 that usually don't sell out, but there usually not all that elegant...
