All Wheels Extreme

You could consider that at the rate he spins her it becomes an illusion as to the height that her head actually is from the ice. Sort of like a head chopper on a coaster. But at any height, the rate at which she spins could still be dangerous if he let go. She could slam head first into the wall that separates the front row from the ice.

Im sorry people. I thought BMX bikes were the same thing as dirt bikes. The guy who jumped a football field on new years said hew was using a BMX bike so I thought that meant a motorized bike.

My appologies.

Let's Get Weird.

^^ It's like a pile driver in wrestling. It looks worse than it is. But if they did it wrong they could break a guy's neck. No matter what move or trick it is in which performance, professionals have done it so often it's a slim chance of anything actually going wrong. But I agree it can put you on the edge of your seat like something actually will go wrong.

^ An honest mistake :)

The other thing is that for BMX bikes, skateboards, inline skate tricks you really don't need a lot of room so the Aquatic Stadium stage probably doesn't need a size increase. Skate parks aren't much larger than 3 or 4 tennis courts (and in fact that's where Tony Hawk has given money to cities to put skateparks on old tennis court areas). It's more about the airtime of the tricks that don't need a lot of room to build up speed. I assume they'll put up a giant half pipe. In any event it's nice to see the Aquatic Stadium isn't being torn down. I actually would have never guessed they would have tried a show like that inside of it. So that's cool.

OMG just watched the hockey video. Thats so nasty. I feel bad for the guy. That has to be the nastiest thing I have ever seen.

Let's Get Weird.

Wow, those skating videos are crazy. I don't I'll be going to any of those skatting shows. I think I would be to scared to see if something bad is going to happen.

About BMX, they are safe, but when they mess-up on one move, like Halloweekends! said, everything can go wrong. But it would be funny to see CP on MTV.Haha, that will be the day.

Nah, don't let those videos scare you. The ice show this past summer was really good. I hope this upcoming season's show is a good one too. It would be cool to see them try an ice show that is not 100% Snoopy, but for obvious reasons we know why that probably wont happen.

Ok. This sounds interesting. If they get qualified pros who know what they are doing, then it shouldn't be too dangerous. Most of the ppl on Scarred are hurt riding on a street course like random handrails and ledges around town, not in a skatepark.

I used to race a BMX bike, and the worst injury I ever had was a broken clavicle. However, this injury occured when I came up a little short on a 30+ft jump, got thrown over the handlebars, and landed onto the lip of the next jump.

I have been riding and all my life, I have some friends who have done some shows like this before. Sure there will be some injury's but there is always a back up rider around. Different teams and groups have been putting on shows like this for years at state fairs and NBA half time shows.
I bet it will be a lot like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4xGI3PVYCwY

I'm not so sure that the word "extreme" is going to imply anything like what many of you BMX people are implying..I'm not holding my breath for an extravagant show, since the last show to be revamped or replaced turned into the worst piece of entertainment in history: Hot Summer Lights.

^Hot Summer Lights I did not think was that bad. I think they could improve on it, but I like the "Fire Water" technolgy they put in it.

Please, the "Fire Water" is overrated, and was the only thing they could focus on. The show sucks, and doesn't even attract the same interest that its original version did. Believe me, I know there are lots of others here that agree...especially with what so many other parks are doing, Cedar Point needs to not only improve, but scrap it and start over.

Yeah, that show is pretty terrible. Lasers still tend to do more visually interesting things since they cover a lot more area (to the extent they have to close rides at the front of the park).

I could never understand why they dropped Stone Mountain Productions, a company known well around the world, for Interlaced Productions, a brand new company, for that show. My guess is that they were cheaper.

I know the show isnot that great, but I do like the "fire water"effect. It has been used at a lot of different sporting events. I think they could improve on the show puting laser back into it, and using more fireworks. Also it would be nice if they could add better music to the show.

I still think this show will hold a lot more entertainment value for its target audience. This has the potential to be a good draw, whether or not they pull it off is still up in the air. Its either going to be super lame or decent like the link I posted in my last post.

There is a steep Thrill Curve working against them. They are trying to impress people who can see stunts anytime on YouTube or cable channels, right in the midst of The Amazement Park of world-class thrills. They're going to need a rollerblader leaping over a shark tank (jump the shark?!?) while juggling chainsaws to get anything more than a polite golf clap. I would suggest they don't skimp on the fx: Fog, lights, music, and flashpowder explosions. For the finale some sort of "death defying" mega stunt that will have the audience on the edge of their seats, like illusionists use to close their shows.

If this show bombs, just give up and add a centrifuge to turn the stadium into a giant 800-person Orbitron (Rotor).

Bingo! I'm willing to bet there were other proposals that would've worked but it all comes down to the almighty dollar. Who cares about quality...as long as they're putting out a product, right??

huh...just like their quality labor force they use...

I kind of take that as an insult.

Same here. Sure some of it has gone downhill, but there are still a lot of people that bust their butts to make the park the best they can make it.
