American Portrait

Please tell me if you tired of "Proud to be an American" you have forgotten about 9/11 or MAY 1 2011 when we killed Bin Launden.... but i can undersand you're not pound. I guess it the fact that I serve OUR county.... People that say that sound is tireing is why other counties dont like us.

Just because it has patriotic lyrics, doesn't mean it's a good song.

Personally I think the guy can't sing worth a shiz and I want to rip my ears off when I hear that song.

The lyrics are like hairography, he sings patriotic lyrics and everyone doesn't realize how terrible he is because they are too caught up in being proud...

And if you think you have to like a song to be an american then you really don't know anything about America.

Careful there. You're getting perilously close to talking sense... :)

I'm surprised to read so many positive reviews of this show. I saw it a couple weeks ago, and as someone who has worked extensively with both digital media and technical theatrical productions, as well as seen every show to grace that screen since the Cedar Point Summer Spectacular, I thought it was pretty bad.

...Although their use of intelligent lighting was moderately improved. ;)

I miss that laser show! I want to see a show with fireworks, lasers, and firewater. That would be great for the park. The video of random scenes with people, etc. is not as entertaining as actual laser effects IMO. The current fireworks are perfect, however. :)

With apologies to David Cross:

The path you tread is narrow, and the drop is sheer and very high.

Actually, it's horridly unpatriotic to claim that someone who does not like a crappy song is somehow unpatriotic.

Where were you........when those kids built a stairway to heaven....?

Indeed, I think any song that makes an overt attempt at patriotism turns out to be crappy. I'm trying to think of an exception, but coming up empty-handed.

There are some great songs that concern America, but they began life as an attempt at a great song, not as a Pavlovian earwig for the knee-jerk crowd.
