Anyone at CP today (Oct 1)?

What rides did they have shut down due to the wind? Going tomorrow and supposed to be windy again so I'm just curious, thanks.

Top Thrill is out. Depending on the Direction, Raptor and Magnum could close (both need different direction winds?)

Force should be fine.. Windseeker doubt its fine.

Thats all I can think off....

I live five minutes away and after listening to the wind howl last night, dropped in the main gate at 11am for the ERT only to see Single Rider Bob on the way out! Even the ticket takers were warning people with tickets rather than passes that nothing was running so far. The GOCC/ACE folks were wandering around after a prolonged tour underneath Millennium, their ERT having been cancelled. Heard some small kiddie rides were running and that was it. Told the ACErs to keep an eye on Maverick because it was running on a similar weekend last year. Got as far as the Pagoda, went in looking for bargains, found one (!), took the package back out to the car (yes they were giving out handstamps at 1145) and went downtown for lunch.

About 530pm I still wanted season ride #200 on Millennium so I showed my platinum pass at the parking booth and drove along Perimeter Road to the back. It was blowing like crazy with huge whitecaps in the channel. Blue Streak was running with a full station, Mantis and Wildcat were running, and as I had predicted Maverick was running. Mean Streak was closed for the season with all three trains in the small lot just outside the fence. Magnum was closed with a single empty train halfway up the lift. Other closed rides were Dragster, Millennium, Raptor and of course Windseeker. I didn't bother entering the park and drove on back out.

I just checked the marine forecast and the winds are supposed to ease slightly, from 20-30 knots down to 15-25 knots. I doubt Windseeker and Dragster will run, and Magnum may not if the wind remains N to NE. I would expect Millennium and Raptor to be up.

Thanks everyone!

Just looked at the extended forecast for the weekend of the 14th. Calling for rain every day, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Lows in the 30s. I sure hope this changes. If not I will be cancelling. I know its a good bit away but I dont handle cold and rain to well.

Don't lose any sleep over that forecast. That's too far out to be accurate by anybody's standards. I don't know why they even bother forecasting daily weather that far in advance. They sometimes can't even get the next day's weather right.

They don't even get the hourly forecast right sometimes

Enjoy the rest of your day at America's Rockin' Roller Coast! Ride On!

Yeah I know, just keeping my fingers and toes crossed. :)

I was there yesterday. If it wasn't for the GOC event, I wouldn't have even gone.

I was there on Friday and Saturday. Horrible!! Friday was okay ride wise. Most rides were open with the exception of WindSeeker and TTD. Saturday we were able to go on a couple rides and that is it.

The wind was crazy both days!!

Magnum wasn't open Friday either.

It really was not that bad. I did get to ride Maverick 5 times, Blue Streak, Wicked Twister, Mantis, Wildcat, Mine Ride, Gemini, Corkscrew and Disaster Transport and some flat rides like Calypso. I did more Halloweekends stuff than I probably would if everything was open. I was up for the GOCC fall freak out and already paid for it and got the time off so I went regardless of the weather. I have fun.
