Attitudes

Okay, you know, There have been several very good changes for this season. But Attitudes was definately not one of them. I really think that the merchandise that is sold there does not belong anywhere near Cedar Point property. The shirts are breaking their own dress code! Other's opinions on this situation?

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.

I was actually going to start a thread about this but you beat me do it!

I hate it. I went in there and looked around and was absolutely disgusted at what I saw. Normally I can handle that kind of material in stores like Hot Topic and such, but at Cedar Point? I thought this was a family amusement park.

Get off your ass and ride, and then putting Cedar Point right underneath. Come on.

I hope the park gets enough complaints that it's taken out.

Normally I am not one to badmouth the park at all, but this really bothers me.

Can someone get me one of these in a XL before there pulled. :)

I think they're funny, but I bet they go away once Judy K or Dick sees them! :)

-Matt

I like them. They are open to a different kind of audience.

Honestly, who really cares. Its just like anything else, if you don't like it or agree don't go into the store. I personally wouldn't buy one, but its kinda funny.

In my opinion, it would be one thing if they didn't have the name "Cedar Point" on them; but they do, and that ties Cedar Point to such references, which I don't believe is a good thing. Especially for a place that promotes themseleves as being a family park. I wasn't at all a fan of the store; Hatitudes needed to be updated, but this isn't how it should have been done. I don't really see how they can justify selling shirts that are blatantly against their own dress code. *** Edited 5/10/2006 2:07:20 AM UTC by DBCP***

There was a thread started about this on another CP site. It basically feels the same way. It doesn't fit in with the park.

I haven't been in there but it doesn't seem like Cedar Point to make a hidden comment about the park like that. Yes they may be trying to get some of the kids to buy t-shirts but thats really not the way to do it. Espically in a "family park"

A family park should have something for every member of the family, right? So this store is for the older crowd of the family. I personally like some of the coaster related shirts in there, better then some of the kid friendly shirts that I would not wear. I don’t own any Cedar Point shirts because I have always thought they were a little lame, except when I was ten. I might actually buy the one Dan mentioned, its funny. It appeals to me, the older young adult crowd. To me the store is not a big deal, its just Cedar Point going with what’s popular.

Having something for everyone in the family doesn't mean everything has to be for the whole family.

Finally Cedar Point is thinking OUTSIDE the box, excellent!

I’m just saying there seemed to be a lack of merchandise products for all age groups. It seemed to jump from around the age of 14 to 30. If you are going to market as a park for the whole family, you should have something for the whole family and not just the children and the adults. You need to fill in the gap between kids and older adult. Which would be the age group I am in now. I don’t think that one store is going to bring Cedar Point to its knees.

I'm Ok with the edgy change to be honest..Only shirt I thought was a little over the top and too controversial was the "fat chicks" shirt...

I liked that one too Danny Boy!!

Sparty On!

I agree that it is somewhat hypocritical of them to sell shirts like that after the past talk of their "Family friendly Dress Code" I recall people being asked to turns "offensive shirts" inside out in the past.

I think there's definately a market for what they're selling there. The shirts are definately aimed at the population 99er mentioned. They're edgy, but I wouldn't say for a minute they violate CP's dress code. Nudity (on the shirt), illegal drug refrences, our outright profanity are all violations of the dress code. I don't think any small children are going to understand what "Get off your donkey and ride" means....

I went and personally spoke to Cedar Point's President, Mr H, and went today to Dick Kinzel's office and left a comment. That stuff has no place at a family park.

Nothing I have seen in Attitudes would violate the CP dress code in any way. The stuff is on the edgy side, but I can't really say anything is offensive. It's more in tune with the humor of the times, and I think it's a really good fit to the taste of guests that are 20 something years old.

Speaking of CP retail, does anyone know which store carries the Tommy Bahama stuff?

Since when are families comprised of only kids under 12 and parents over 40? Do the teenagers get the shaft on finding any souvenirs that aren't childish or aimed at their parents?

What Juggalotus and Pete said above is spot-on, and basically the bottom line. Don't like what they sell? Don't buy it, and don't go inside. Its as simple as that.

ejh1701 - If you don't like it, don't go. I really doubt they're going to pull their merchandise because a minority of folks don't like it, so why waste your (or the brass') time? I don't understand why this is such a critical issue for you. Seems like you may just be a bit of a dramatist, if that's a word.
