August?

Sorry, I had to. That Mythbusters episode used an SUV on a closed track and doing one constant speed. Not exactly the best way to test gas mileage while using the A/C.

Using the A/C is more efficient if you are up to a decent speed of 45 or more, maintain that speed consistently (electronic throttle control or cruise control helps the best, Jugga, you have ETC in your Cobalt) and leave the windows up.

In traffic or when getting on the freeway (city driving), it's best to have the A/C off and just roast for a while until you can get up to speed. Also, if your vehicle has a MAX setting or RECIRC button, try not to use it much if at all. It turns on the compressor whether the A/C is on or not. Using more of your engine power and gasoline etc...

If you're that worried about your gas mileage, I say stay home and skip the CP trip. You'll save tons of money, and the lines will be shorter. :)

Adam why? I'd be cool to be at CP when it is announced. Although, you'd have to come home and read all 10 pages of the "OMG MAVERICKKKSA IN @))$@))2007" thread.

We'll miss you MrScott and Pete

I never intended on regsitering on this site. I am far to old for this. Anyway, my brother lives across the street from the/an Operation Manager at Cedar Point. My brother doesn't know the guy well enough to ask him a stupid question like "what is the roller coaster going to be". So he asked him the next logical question: "When are you going to announce the next coaster?" The answer "After Labor Day." So forget August, you are all wrong.

My brother lives in Illinois. He has no idea when the announcement will be.

But that is the only way to test it. In order to find if it is A/C or Windows that costs gas money, you need to constant all the other factors. That means identical vehicles, no other cars and a constant speed.

HOWEVER, your other points I'll agree with.

You are never too old to love rollercoasters as much as we do. Besides I am 25, and the people I met from this site on opening day were older than I am. (we are doing that party next year too. My wife will make an awesome maverick cake!)

^What if P2007 turns out to be called a different name besides Maverick?

I personally feel they should wait on an announcement. Once its announced, the "wow those supports really hug the ground" or the "is it a brake run or launch" will not matter. Nor would the constant updates. What I think would be great is if they, over a period of time, announced certain specs to the ride, but not all at once. Plus, with an announcement, all this "guessing" we've done goes right down the drain. I say, wait til October or November.

Well I'm sure we might still hear the annoucement when August Arrives tomorrrow. I'm not saying it could be annouced tomorrow, but you never know. It could be this week, could be next week. To me I don't check the boards as much as I shoudl anyway because I'm always busy with work and with my friends. Since this topic has already been brought up, I'll just guess anyway and say the second week of August. If Not, I won't get upset. I'm just happy that we are getting the updates every week and watching this coaster grow.

^ I am not sure about that.
